I'm making Myth Caller: The Nightmare Shaman, a collectathon platformer fused with a monster-taming RPG!
Doesn't that wishlist button look mighty tempting on thie fine Wishlist Wednesday?

Watch where you swim in Aquillis- there are strong water currents that prevent you from swimming back the way you came!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I redid the way Slimire is shaded and AAAAAAAAA I LOVE HIM SO MUCH NOW!
Look at how much the lighting POPS off of the darker part of its body!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Sad that you can only pick one starter? Don't worry about it!
You can get all 3 starters with fusion!

It's Wishlist Wednesday again!
Myth Caller: The Nightmare Shaman is a 90's-Style Platformer fused with a Monster-Taming RPG! Why not wishlist it on Steam or wait for it to come out on consoles?

Here is the staff shop in Venchure Village!
Staves allow shamans to transform into monsters, so they're an important part of life for the villagers
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Spelleton has to have my favorite shiny form so far!
After redoing the shading, the red cloak and hat look so cool!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I made a grungy back alley segment in Aquillis!
...Just don't ask how my monster is using a fire breath attack underwater
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Over the HUGE amount of time I've spent making this game, I actually got a lot better at shading!
So I've been slowly giving monsters a bit of a shading makeover. I've only done a few so far, but it's getting there.
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I love adding little rest areas in between levels!
It gives you a moment to breathe and it lets me add in little details that tease the level you're about to enter
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I got done making the ruined underwater church in Aquillis!
It's surreal seeing the difference between how Aquillis looked in Xander the Monster Morpher compared to how it's shaping up in Myth Caller.
I'll do a comparison video soon, it's crazy
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

(literally no one is going to see this because the new deltarune just dropped lmao)
but Myth Caller: The Nightmare Shaman is a Collectathon Platformer fused with a Monster-Taming RPG!
Why not wishlist it on steam on this fine wishlist wednesday?
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Meet Asclepiserp, the newest playable monster!
Asclepiserp can cure its own status conditions with its panacea ability, and healing hearts heal more of its HP!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Myth Caller: The Nightmare Shaman is basically my dream game, full stop.
A cartoony collectathon platformer that's ALSO a monster-taming RPG is something I would have been OBSESSED with as a kid, so that's exactly what I'm creating!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Whew, it's been a while, hasn't it?
Sorry for the extended break from posting, but Jamie and I have been going through a bunch of medical issues recently which has made posting regularly difficult.
We're back in action now, though!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart #monstertaming #pokemon

I reworked the minibosses to make it so you have to reduce their HP to catch them.
It was just too easy to catch them before. Now you have to actually fight them for a while instead of just running up to them and mashing the "catch" button lmao
#gamedev #indiedev

Meet Specanth, the game's newest catchable monster!
Specanth's signature attack is a homing ghost that has a chance to defeat enemies in a single blow!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I've made some good progress on the ruined city of Aquillis!
Most of the map will be underwater, with a lot of inspiration from classic levels like Wet-Dry World
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Whew! I finished my Monster Tamer Direct video submission, so updates should get more substantial soon (since I'm no longer working on that trailer or materials that will go into it)
Anyway, I widened the walls in Caller's Hall's sea caves!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

I fixed a bunch of glitches and weirdness with the 2D maps-
the platforming works a lot better, the camera's better, etc
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Continuing my rework of Caller's Hall, this time I remade the underground mine section!
Now the walls are wider, the ceiling is taller, and there's more detail!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Some levels have these red and blue doors that can be
permanently opened by pressing certain buttons-
but I figured that would be unfair for colorblind people, so I added more differences to the door sprites
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Continuing my rework of Caller's Hall- some of the hallways have been made a bit larger so the camera has ample room to breathe!
#gamedev #indiedev #pixelart

Not that *exciting* of an update- but you can map buttons to specifically navigate menus now!
...I have to put together my trailer for this year's monster tamer direct so things might not be that exciting for a bit lmao
