Does anyone else have a 'side' when they book tickets? I've just realised that I booked seats on the right hand side for every event we've been to this year. Is it a thing? Or just me!
My cat says "no". He's 15 yrs old and long haired - he's had enough already 🙈
I was in #Manchester last week, a wonderful city, but a city that needs more green spaces & trees. I came across this tree shaded square near the centre and what was benefiting from the shade? Cars! This space must be reclaimed & turned into a space everyone can enjoy. @treesforstreets.bsky.social
Today I walked up and down the Champs-Élysées and there were no cars (due to the marathon)! And it was wonderful. Imagine if it was like this everyday, instead of the traffic-filled hell that it usually is.
100 walks in 100 days = cake from my husband. I'm disappointed my Garmin watch didn't send out fireworks and party poppers though 😁
It's never too late for a bus stop. In fact, it's only 30 years plus since our estate was built and now we have two bus stops - our first ever bus will stop here on 2 March! And if you look carefully someone's stuck a @thewaroncars.bsky.social sticker on the post 😁
If you close a pavement and go to the effort of putting up a temporary traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing, then at least make sure the sodding lights are working and face the traffic. Tunbridge Wells fails again when it comes to pedestrian safety.
They've got figure skating and curling in Milan. While here in #Wiltshire we're going for gold in the pavement slalom.
Today I visited Bath Soft Cheese. I learned how cheese is made, ate cheese, ate some more cheese, and am now going to bed to sleep of the cheese coma. Totally recommend a visit if you're in the area - excellent tour, and did I mention, cheese!
Hey #autoglass and #amazon can you tell your drivers to stop parking on pavements. And, no, turning on your hazard lights is not a free pass to park on a pavement 😡 #banpavementparking
We bought two super snuggly blankets this winter to help reduce our heating bill. Do you think we've used the blankets? Or do you think the cat has claimed them as his!
This is as close to cuddling each other as my two ever got. But they're still super cute 😍
Hi @sainsburys.bsky.social #theAA can you tell your staff to stop parking on pavements. Especially the AA van which was parked on a pavement at Royal United Hospital Bath 😡 #banpavementparking
What a glorious day for a walk. Sparkling frost on the plants, birds chattering amongst the trees, sun streaming through barely there clouds. Stop whatever you're doing and get outside*. *Unless you're a surgeon, in which put your phone down and concentrate on operating.
Waiting for my husband to finish his apt at the hospital. So far I've been for a walk around the adjacent business park 😬 and now I'm in the car (wrapped up in a blanket) reading @thewaroncars.bsky.social Life after cars 😁
Should we replace unsafe pavements that are only there due to a sense of place, or quaintness, or because 'they've always been that way'? Hell yes we should. Sorry #TunbridgeWells I know you got other issues at the moment, but perhaps you could take a look at your pavements & make them safe? 1/
I was out for a peaceful walk until my path was blocked by this sign. Hey, Martin Traffic Management, Wiltshire Council, @chippenhamtown.com I guess cars are more important than the safety of people who walk and wheel? Q. If I move this sign to a patch of grass opposite, can I get in trouble?
I was feeling ever so slightly out of place at the Saxon concert last night. Then I popped to the loo and bumped into a fellow @thewaroncars.bsky.social fan. I showed off the stickers I always have on me. We talked about Bristol and the pedestrian improvements. It was the highlight of my night 😁
Counting down the days... @thewaroncars.bsky.social @bookshop.org
Excellent food and beer (fab 0.5% beer range) at #Bundobust #Manchester and also excellent advice!
My weekend reading. I got a bit sweary just reading the intro to @iandunt.bsky.social How Westminster works, so I'm moving onto America's fight for freedom from white Christian fundamentalists. In between I'm checking out all the butterflies on my verbena - just to keep me going 😀
The verbena is out and the butterflies and bees are loving it. No pic of butterflies or bees - they were to quick for me 😆
I went to the @livingstreets.bsky.social summit today to help me narrow down my focus for local activism. Instead, I've come away with 20 more ideas 😆 Fantastic day, thanks to all the Living Streets team and panellists.
Spent the day supporting Bioblitz at one of my favourite places, The National Arboretum, Westonbirt. Felt good to do something, however small, to help nature. We're doing it all again tomorrow if you're in the area.
Hot April day in Paris today! Just hope it cools down a bit in time for the marathon on Sunday - especially for those who've been training through the winter months.
Train number two: London to Paris. Food was good for a vegetarian meal, could of done with a better ratio of houmous to couscous though - so dry!
