Second point – let’s return to your lazy reference back to race. No-one that I know of is trying to organise the lynching of trans people. (But perhaps you move in different circles to me?) J K Rowling certainly isn’t and nor is any gender critical woman I have ever heard of. Those trans individuals who fall victim to violence are overwhelmingly the victims of – you guessed it – MALE predators. The people concerned about the erasure of biological sex as a category are overwhelmingly women, and their tactics have been – so far as I can ascertain – utterly lawful, peaceful and reasonable. Go check for yourself – it isn’t the gender critical campaigners carrying banners and placards or posting images on social media of baseball bats and the slogan Die-Trans-Scum. It isn’t GC campaigners assaulting or threatening their opponents with death and mutilation. It isn’t GC campaigners attempting to no-platform anyone who disagrees with them.

But let’s stick with your – ill-conceived – race comparison a little further. No-one sane could argue with the statement that black Americans face massive societal risk when compared to their white compatriots. But try following up the – very reasonable – demands for justice being made by Black Lives Matters with the suggestion that because of this – very real – risk, all white American homeowners must now provide African Americans with the keys to their home and right of access at any time.

See how that might go down?
