Waiting for the second act at the most amazing drone show. We are part of a huge crowd at Kayanase (Six Nations) for a special drone presentation of Haudenesaunee Creation Story. Our first drone show and a beautiful story. So wonderful!!

Today, we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the world's first long-distance telephone call — received by Alexander Graham Bell in Paris, ON. We've come a long way since then! Today, my brother phoned me from out West (very rare) and I burst into tears because he sounded just like my dad. 🥹
Hosted another lunchtime gathering for folks in the neighbourhood who are home during the day. Everyone brought their own lunch and we sat at my long picnic table under the trees and had great conversations for just the lunch hour. And then they left. It was great — and I met some new people today!
A friend of mine bought this book and left it out for her tweens to find. Then they were quoting it to my kid and telling him that he needs to know this stuff. So I got it for him and he can't put it down. It's really good and we all highly recommend it! Knowledge is power — empower your kids!!
When the team at Mac rejoices to see a former microprem hitting 99th percentile for height and then the pulmonologists get excited to hear that he is busy with tennis, soccer, and swimming. Not just surviving — thriving. His successes are their successes too. #Asthma #BPD #MicroPrem
Downtown Paris ON is torn up for the second year in a row for much-needed infrastructure updates. They've just opened the completed section to create the Paris Promenade for the rest of the season. I am so looking forward to this lovely carless 3rd space for gathering. Hope it helps the businesses!
My husband bought a case of this flavoured water for me because he remembered me once telling him about the delicious fruits that grew in our garden when I was a child in the tropics. It's a lovely and refreshing drink!

Kiddo is at a leadership camp this week (offered through his usual land-based forest school program). There's so much good learning happening, and they are cleaning up the creek in the woods today so they will stay relatively cool during this heat wave. Again, I want forest school for adults! 🤭
Every time we drive past this construction zone, kiddo quietly says, "Disagree."
I posted on the neighbourhood group that I was hosting a work-from-homers lunch on Wed — bring your own lunch and eat with others at my community table. Only one person was able to come that day — we loved it. But so many people have asked when we're doing it again.... so it's going to be a thing. ❤️
It's after-hours at the library, they've armed a dozen teens with NERF blasters, and all hell has just broken loose as a kick-off to summer holidays. They will be finding random darts in the book stacks for weeks 🤣 Libraries really are special ❤️
I like to bake and take bread as a gift for people when I visit. It's funny how it's one of the most basic and universal forms of sustenance and yet it's so appreciated by all. It's cheap and easy to make — and people love it.
The best part of this video is that the sound of the caterpillar munching on dill is actually the sound of our dog who just happened to be lapping up his water at the exact moment I was filming the caterpillar 😆
It's been a week and we are still eating some sort of beans every day 😁 Tonight's dinner is turkey/sweet potato chili with black beans, and corn tortillas with cheese. I will put the chili recipe below.

Surely we could set up some geothermal green house operations in Canada to grow some of the tropical fruit that we import from around the world. Shouldn't we be able to grow passionfruit, for example?
Celebrating the summer solstice with three teens who don't have to go to school in the morning and have plans to stay up silly late. Campfire, hose fights, video games, and so many snacks. Let the summer begin!!!

This is our friend Robin. His family farm, Devon Acres Organic Farm, is in trouble. Brantford has decided it wants more land & is annexing County of Brant land around the airport (with Ford's help). When Brantford extends its borders, the next step will be to expropriate Robin's farm. So unjust. 😡
They love butter chicken and don't even notice when I sneak in a block of frozen chopped spinach and a can of chickpeas for added fibre and nutrition. 😁
I am obsessed with my two new paintings featuring iconic Paris ON buildings: the Carnegie library and the Old Town Hall. I serve on both the library board and the advisory board for the Bawcutt Centre (Old Town Hall) — so I was delighted to purchase Tony Churchill's paintings of them.
I like to cheat and just use a jar of curry sauce with a can of lentils over rice for a quick meal (add onions and other veggies as desired). Also, these two lentil salads are wonderful. Please forgive the lack of ALT text. I just can't right now.
I made baked beans — from scratch, from a bag — for the first time. They are sooooo good. We're trying more fibre, less meat.
