I want you to know I feel eyes WIDE open about the brushfire of terror we have experienced. I also can see that in the embers of that brushfire, the seedlings of a new world have solidly and defiantly sprouted using all the good soil our ancestors created.

It is only a people who can grieve at great depth that can create and celebrate at a level of great life. Maybe that's what we've been missing.
Our lack of truly grieving has kept us stuck in the rituals and celebrations of a segregationist vision.

The 4th of July was not the start of the country I personally want to celebrate. However, the ratification of the 14th Amendment is. The day the 14th amendment was ratified is the start of the country I could possibly one day feel a true part of.

Whenever I come home from a business trip, there is a ritual baby boy invokes by sitting and laying on me for a time.

My senior dog has developed a ridiculous snore. It is amazing.
