Watched a gem of a film this weekend—“I Swear”—about John Davidson, a Scottish man living with Tourette’s Syndrome. Just an incredible story and beautifully made film. AND first film where I saw this statement in the credits about Ai. 🌟

Our Mabel is recovering from her spay surgery while big Lab baby Bowie watches over her. All we are doing for the 4th of July long weekend is staying inside with heat blocking curtains drawn & hanging out with these two & the cats. Music, books, Ken Burns docs, pets, iced tea & ice cream. 🎆
My core memories in the 1970s include total strangers labeling me a boy in loud public ways. I retreated into books in quiet places or high up in trees. My self concept was “tomboy.” My Wife is cisgender Butch. So is our daughter. Constantly policed and harassed in bathrooms. Because of trans panic.
11 years ago today SCOTUS recognized marriage equality as the law of the land. My Hot Butch Wife and I will be married for 17 years in August. We have a series of SCOTUS decisions that we celebrate as our marriage was recognized in some states, federally, and finally in Ohio where we live. #pride 🌈❤️

We are in Philly to celebrate our only child’s 2nd graduation in 1 year. Our 5-month old Boston terrier puppy road tripped with us for our weeklong vacation in South Philly—fully living up to cliches of how dyke momz cope with empty nesting life. The struggle is real. Puppy dopamine helps. #dogjoy

Mabel has made it clear that the constant rain and storms on the way a bit north of you here in Central Ohio means today is human-stays-in-pjs Saturday morning. (Our five cats and the big dog are snoozing elsewhere on this grey Caturday. It’s definitely a napping house so far today.)

Thank you! Just yesterday we had our first ever visit of a very large family in 23 years. Two vigilant parenting adults and 21 goslings that by their size had to be from maybe three distinct hatchlings? It was very hot for May in Ohio so I set out water when I saw them rambling down our street. ❤️
