I explore other worlds, writing science fiction & fantasy. Loved science all my life & scifi too. Find me at favorite online bookstores - Amazon, Apple, B&N, Kobo, and more! #scifibooklover #sciencefiction #scifi
Always fun to come across one of my sci-fi novels in a bookstore &here's two! My stand-alone scifi/fantasy colonization/first contact story and collection of short stories with my best local author friends #scifi #sciencefictionbook #BookSky Can't get to Silver City? books2read.com/Chronicle-Sc...
I just found WIPsnips. What a fun idea. I offer "heaved OUT" #writingcommunity
Today a PSA: Cervical cancer is morphing from deadly threat to rarity. HPV virus, not lifestyle, causes cervical cancer, cancers in throat, anus, &elsewhere, so boys & girls. Block the virus - block the cancer. Parents, ask your provider about HPV vaccine for your pre-teen/young-teen #cancer #health
Imagine trying to build a ridge structure, or even one with some flex in it, that big... like a Borg cube?
Doohan didn't come through WWII unscathed. Seems odd to me that Star Trek chose to hide the injury - would have been easy to create a believable Star-Trek-universe explanation. Helps me remember all the troops who fought Hitler's Nazis that day and throughout WWII.
Here's where I write... but I need a bigger desk #writerslife #caturday
While you're looking up as NASA aims at orbiting the Moon (full Moon tonight!) consider that science fiction puts you on the Moon right now... and in Earth orbit too books2read.com/LunarBase
IRL NASA will launch Artemis II mission Wed, April 1, 2026 (no fooling, launch window opens 6:24 pm EDT) My scifi book sends a brash (&somewhat obnoxious) young pilot chasing space debris & a stealth probe in Earth orbit & across a private Moon base books2read.com/LunarBase #Artemis #scifibook
Some scientists have suggested Titan would be a good place for a colony... but who would go there, and why? Realistic science fiction, keeping a step ahead of NASA... books2read.com/TitanColony
Here are Dr Who's Silurians... reptiles? Humanoid reptiles cause easier to costume the actors - I get it. Hypothesized civilizations predating our fossil record could be... anything.
You'll find a bit about me, links to some of my scifi books, and posts about things that caught my interest right here on Blue Sky bsky.app/profile/kate...
Simple task - replace a water filter. Shut off valve broke! Flood! Husband ran to utility room to main valve. I grabbed every towel in the house. Gunk clogged faucet! Gasket shot! DIY job got bigger. But, only one trip to hardware store in town. Now, quick, post, while still a success #DIY #plumbing
I live with perhaps the only cat in the world not interested in boxes #caturday
I have. Find links to my books here books2read.com/Kate-Rauner Realistic science fiction in digital books and paperbacks, at many online stores #BookSky #sciencefiction
My latest release - entire story contained in this one book. Crossing interstellar space, settlers find lethal sickness on an ocean planet. Also, aliens tied to deeply traditional lives. Can this world ever become home? books2read.com/Chronicle-Sc... 🚀 👽 #BookSky #sciencefiction
John, if you or any of your followers want to talk to a nobody... here I am 😄 🖋️🚀 But, seriously, if you think about this sort of social interaction, you-yourself are okay. You have fine ideas, so here are two of my cats - gone, but not forgotten.
The article I linked to is larger than merely showing off futurism postcards from 1899. "There are no laws dictating the future from the present. We make the future, and it won’t be dystopian unless we build it that way." Both a scary and hopeful thought. reactormag.com/why-science-...
Wonderful term: retro-futurism. Love 1899 illustrations with steampunk charm. I differ with the article here: Teamed with my Roomba I get cleaner rooms cause I stack stuff out of the way - chairs, etc - which I never did when I pushed the vacuum myself reactormag.com/why-science-... #scifiart #scifi
Izzy's favorite window. Overlooking the bird feeder and sun comes in all day. He came to us feral, but has turned into a couch potato. Happy to watch instead of hunt 😸 #caturday
