Saw this crumpled-up notice on the street this morning that my neighbors can't have a "STATE LAW - STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS WITHIN CROSSWALK" standee. I always love when one of those is about because pointing at one is just about the only way to get drivers to not run you over sometimes.

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT gives notice that it impounded an unpermitted crosswalk sign located in the right-of-way.
PROPERTY IMPOUNDED: Pedestrian crossing sign that says "STATE LAW STOP FOR PEDESTRIANS WITHIN CROSSWALK"
LOCATION OF IMPOUNDED PROPERTY: The sign was located at the intersection of 15th Ave NW and NW 57th St
REASON FOR IMPOUNDMENT: The sign was placed in the right-of-way without a permit, or was deemed a nuisance, an obstruction to travel or transportation, or a safety hazard
AUTHORITY TO IMPOUND: Seattle Municipal Code 15.38.010.A authorizes the
SDOT Director or representative to immediately impound personal property in a right-of-way without a permit if the property is an obstruction to travel ora safety hazard.
NOTICE REQUIRED: When the owner of the property is unknown, SMC
15.38.020 C requires a notice of impoundment be published in the City's official, newspaper, the Daily Journal of Commerce.
RECOVERY OF PROPERTY: The owner may claim the sign within 60 days of the date of this notice being published. The owner shall be responsible for paying all fees associated with impounding, transporting, and storing the container. If the sign is unclaimed after the 60-day period, the City may dispose of the items) at its iscretion.

Ballot paper size

During the 2026 municipal elections, at least eleven municipalities will be experimenting with a smaller ballot paper (A3 format). These are Alphen aan den Rijn, Boekel, Gouda, 's-Hertogenbosch, Leiden, Meierijstad, Midden-Delfland, Nijmegen, Noordoostpolder, Soest and Tynaarlo.[5]

The municipality of Borne previously participated in the experiment, but decided not to participate in these elections due to concerns about the number of invalid votes and the reduced recognizability of candidates.

Both the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Electoral Council remain positive about the experiment, which should contribute to a simpler and faster voting and counting process.[6][7]

BOOM. Wilson closes the gap, with many more ballots left. This is a tremendous result for her. She trails Harrell by just 1.9% and 4,300 votes. There are many more ballots remaining than at this point in the primary count.

Wilson lost ground on the Thursday drop in the primary, actually doing worse on that day's returns (51.1%) than today's (51.8%). May repeat here, but there's not much to go on with limited transparency on what kind/time of votes were counted today.

Thursday drop. Wilson trails Harrell by 9,908, 5.7%. The gap begins to close. We are apparently STILL not into a drop box sample yet, or only including some drop box data. There's a TON of votes expected to lean Wilson out there.
