The ferry departed and the car alarms started. It’s a multi-alarm chorus. Feels just like home!
HangTag in YVR: not a math wiz of an app or trying to rip me off? Who’s to say?
Feeling super sad about next week not being @siwc.bsky.social. Tried to distract myself with cleaning the kitchen and promptly broke the perfect little gift the wonderful @finnwritesstuff.bsky.social gave me last year that I’ve used every day since. 😭😭😭
What actor's expression in a movie will stay with you for the rest of your life?
I always think of Star Wars day as Leslie day. My late friend Leslie was the biggest Star Wars fan I've ever met, her devotion written in ink all over her body. She was wild and generous and funny, and we all, but her kids especially, lost her all too soon.
Pierre was in my town today telling his supporters people here are terrified to leave their homes. This guy has no clue.
Random trip photo: what could be nicer than a tea break inside a bookstore? At Topping & Co in Edinburgh last May.
My mum's sister died of polio when she was six and my mum was one. Everything about my family was changed forever by that one death in ways that are still keenly felt 77 years later.
Did you know my friend Kate MacIntosh has a new dual timeline book out this week? I cannot wait to read The Champagne Letters. France, strong women finding their way, champagne… I’m waiting impatiently for my copy to arrive. 🍾
This post by a genealogy colleague being indistinguishable from one by a writer colleague handily illustrates one part of the largely overlapping venn diagram of the things I do for work. 🙃
A random photo for a stormy Tuesday: inside one of the many cosy bookstores in Wigtown, Scotland.
Post a picture you took (no description) to bring some zen to the timeline
A moment of calm: standing at the edge of the sea with my friend @sandratayler.bsky.social a couple of months ago in LA, listening to the waves roll in and watching birds enjoy their low-tide feast of the mussels growing on the pilings.
Abby's sheer joy in finding a most excellent stick twice as long as she is makes any day better.
Happy book birthday to my dear friend Liza Palmer. Very excited to read this!
