Grateful for a wonderful month in Iceland at a very special residency for artists (and writers). Having a studio to focus on a new project was incredible. Living on a horse farm surrounded by volcanic mountains was a dream. A highlight was visiting a little island inhabited by 500,000 puffins.

Happy Bloomsday to all who celebrate! The day is named after Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of James Joyce's novel Ulysses, which take place on Thursday, June 16, 1904. Meanwhile, I'm still translating Ulysses into Irish Trees. Maybe it'll be ready next Bloomsday. Yes I said yes I will Yes!

A court-ordered midnight deadline came and went to remove President Trump’s name from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as a crowd of about 400 people watched and chanted while workers built scaffolding. A federal judge had set the deadline to remove the name, but shortly before midnight, Kennedy Center officials filed a motion asking for a 12-hour extension, saying that evening thunderstorms had delayed progress.
