I have spent a very grey Sunday making pumpkin soup and a loaf of fresh bread to eat it with, so there's that...
My *signed* copy of @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social's Everything Will Swallow You just arrived, all the way to Oz! Perfect timing as I need a new evening read! How good is BookSky. (And free international shipping from Blackwell's! ♥️)
Success! With careful planning and pacing, I made it all the way across to Perth! #IndianPacific #LongCOVID Not-so #TinyJoys Some pics 🧵
This was on the screen at my hotel last week when I arrived. *My* room. Which I booked. In which I was staying. Alone.
Finished a thing that was looong delayed by my illness, so I'm celebrating the slow but steady achievement of goals with tofu noodles and a beer. Have a great weekend people!
Maybe try an adapted version of the old remote retreat timetable? It (and the associated community) got me through my first book!
Ooh snap. (I looked at this MS back in 2024...!) Let's throw out a challenge to #MedievalSky to keep the #MSDigby4 thread rolling!
The only thing to do at the end of a tough week is try a new veggie recipe! This is peanut tofu with coconut rice and steamed cabbage with sesame dressing. I think I slightly over salted the peanut sauce, but it's not too bad.
My sister took me to a wonderful author talk in a wonderful garden today and it was a :perfect: Saturday
This year's pear harvest has rendered 3L of preserved fruit in syrup! (We bag some of the fruit on our tree and leave the rest for birds and possums but this is still our best harvest so far.)
Yum! Just preparing ours to be preserved in ginger and cinnamon syrup for winter desserts
Junior* sosige snoozing peacefully. * Ok, he's almost 12, but New College was founded in the 14th century; so sue me.
Hey. I know cash it tight but if you have a few bucks to throw at the Royal Children's Hospital #GoodFridayAppeal, it really makes a difference to the care available for kids, and research into childhood diseases. Donate via the QR code/ link in alt Anything I er $2 is tax deductable in Australia.
Hey. Are you living in Australia and suffering #LongCOVID? A team at RMIT is studying the experience of LongCOVID and they are looking for participants. Your contribution could help understand the condition and generate advice for govt and health authorities. Details in flyer and alt text 👇
The last of the three roses I grew from cuttings last year has finally come into bloom to close out the season. I'd forgotten which rose it was going to be but it was worth the wait!
Had a fab time at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden show today with my sister, with special thanks once again to the Travellers' Aid accessibility team for making it possible for me to be there all day! ♥️ This student design by Megan Griffey of Holmesglen was one of my top picks 🌱
Didn't have spinach so I've made chickpea and green bean yoghurt curry instead 😋
What's your sign? (This pearler was shared in the family WhatsApp... 😂)
A piece by my brother, Andy Hutson, reflecting on the appropriation of environmental themes for corporate profits. On show at Stockroom, Kyneton, in 2019. Share more art!
