Me: I can't tell of the sky is gray from impending storm or if the sky is gray from smoke. Weather: ¿ por qué no los dos ?
I am eating *pretzels*, you'd think from the way she's begging that I had an entire chicken at my desk (Not pictured: the giant purr of desperation)
Elder child's lunch for both of us today came out much better than her baking experiment yesterday. 😋
...and, well, I don't know if I made it better or worse, really, but: my work here is done.
Finished that second playthrough of Clair Obscur I started months ago. That game is so damn pretty, let us not discuss how many hours I spent just lining up amazing shots in photo mode. And then sometimes you get lucky and your kids make you pause the game at *just* the right moment.
Lisbet has very strong opinions about me working right now and her opinion is: don't
Lis turns out to be extremely into human food. She has stolen pizza. She has stolen chicken nuggets. She has stolen breakfast sandwiches. She has stolen rice. And as of tonight, she has stolen tortellini. This is the face of a miscreant.
After a couple weeks for the girls to settle in, the desk-side cat trap is now working as intended. Well, for one of them anyway. The other keeps trying to sit on my feet.
In earlier months this intersection spawned a series of inexplicable fancy chairs and now a Christmas Minion. Legit cannot tell if dumping or performance art. Either is possible, around here.
Oh, sure, pretend to be angel babies. You're not fooling anyone, cats; I found the murdered rice krispy treat on the living room floor.
Guybrush was the best bro, a great cat, and no one can replace him. But. Our whole family felt the house was far too empty without cats and so this week we expanded by two. Introducing Elisabet (Lisbet, Liz, Bets), 17 mos., and Aloy, 7 mos. Right now they mostly live behind the dryer lol.
I know my subscriptions did not coordinate today lolol but the way it worked out in my inbox sure looks like they did 😂
Got a couple suncatchers for free and put them in a west-facing window, but the rules of video game logic have taught me to look at where the light lands and makes things glow so now I know: the compost bin is the most important thing in my house and must be interacted with
This is true, btw. We were in a puddle. But also, if taste were rules-based my job would be much easier. 😂 Learning to have compatible work vibes takes a long time, and I think -- as someone who was an admin in her earliest career -- that devaluing this labor is biting everyone in the posterior.
So on Feb 18. we scheduled a recording to take place Mar 20, as we do. And then, between booking and recording, **some stuff** SURE DID HAPPEN. Huge props to the team who managed to get this ready over the weekend while I was faffing about at Masquerade.
Y'all, this has been the wildest work week in a hot minute and I look forward to sharing the results with the world next week haha. But in the meantime, I'm off to do something much more fun (I hope) this weekend.
