Tried to reserve reserve judgement regarding Mayor Her. But I just read that she campaigned on “Bringing people together to get things done.” If a Saint Paul mayor echoes Norm, that’s not good in my book. And if they didn’t know, it’s worse.
Calling for the resignation of the DNC chair in the midst of the midterm is dumb. Not here to defend Ken (or his phone throwing) too enthusiastically, but this is out of hand. He’s probably better than the consultant stooge they’d replace him with. Deal with it in December.
Omg Angie Craig’s fundraising has dried up! Such a disingenuous text from Angie Craig. She’s trying to pretend she doesn’t have a primary, targeting national donors. She’s trying to amplify the competitiveness of the race to try to steal national donor money and use it in the primary against a Dem.
This is the new Angie Craig line of attack: blaming Peggy Flanagan for housing growth and a drop in Black home ownership. Craig is attacking Governor Walz. Or perhaps introducing an important policy issue. But blaming Black home ownership on the LG is like blaming Gore for Clinton’s philandering.
Governor Whitmer vetoed a Labor pension bill that our coalition has been working to pass in Michigan. The bill would have expanded public safety retirement benefits to correctional officers, addressing chronic staffing shortages by making these difficult jobs more competitive. WTF Democrats?
Same shit. Different year. Stalling and letting years go by is deliberate. By the time they do the “coaching,” the incident has long since passed. They just did a huge housecleaning in internal affairs. Now the new chief can come in and blame O’Hara. Just as O’Hara blamed saint Rondo.
false equivalence AMERICAN [fawls i-kwiv-uh-luhns] / ˈfɔls ɪˈkwɪv ə ləns / NOUN a logical fallacy in which one assumes or asserts that two things are the same or equal when, while alike in some ways, they are not sufficiently similar to be considered equivalent.
Frey appears to have caved to Alpha news. Or perhaps the guy he actually wanted (with the prerequisite gender) was just at the cabin and wanted to start in June.
Alpha News was giddy when Katie Blackwell’s weekend long rein as Acting Chief came to an end after less than one full Scaramucci (ten days). Rank and file insists Blackwell perjured herself during the trial when the Chauvin, a MPD training officer known as a ‘Warlord‘ was found guilty of murder.
This poll is just fine for Peggy Flanagan. She is well positioned. Primary polling is tough. This has a tight vote screen, KSTP, etc. This is how survey USA always goes. Not saying it’s inaccurate. Going to be a ground battle.
Notice how they managed to get Angie Craig's name in this. Klobuchar spokesperson: “Sen. Klobuchar has made it clear that as the leader of the ticket, she supports the entire statewide ticket. She is not actively involved in the Senate race because she is focused on her own campaign and her job."
The StarTribune and HuffPost now have wildly different interpretations of largely the same words. HuffPost: she’s 'backing Flanagan’s campaign because they’re on the ticket together.' “We always support the ticket,” she said.
My dad spent the last days of his life at a U of M hospital. He was well cared for and being at the U was meaningful to him. Because of UnitedHealth, if he were sick today, that would now not be possible.
I genuinely have no idea who this person is. They’re clearly digging deep on the D list over at Corporate / Moderate HQ and it’s only June.
Today's political landscape has many varied nuances. One usually benign wrinkle is a seemingly never-ending stream of redundant NGOs aiming to solve what ails us through various pet projects. Behind each is usually a dude. One such org, Principles First, is hosting an event on June 16th.
STRIB INVESTIGATION Vance Boelter’s 43 hours on the run JUNE 9, 2026 Story by Jeff Day www.startribune.com/vance-boelte...
Minneapolis police officer Abdisamad Ahmed allegedly double dipped working off-duty and on-duty simultaneously. While unproven, the MPD has stalled for nearly a decade to prevent any transparent reporting of off-duty work hours. Everyone is negligent on this. Off duty work is a notorious mess.
Did I see some analysis saying the market drop was blamed on a *good* jobs report?
Yep there it is. "In 1982, the city expanded the tax increment district to include Galtier Plaza, a commercial, office, retail, and residential development including a YMCA and parking ramp." www.auditor.leg.state.mn.us/ped/pedrep/9...
In the Strib, activists can be individuals. DFL delegates are “activists.” Activists also provoke “confrontations” with police. Even nonprofits can be termed “activist” non profits.
I still have a hard time believing this is correct. 170 calories!
Here are the last two Minnesota Republican gubernatorial primaries for reference. They had very low turnout in 2014. Their base is not electability oriented at all. Always way more DFL primary votes.
In any union contract, overtime must be approved by the supervisor. This (screenshot) is from the Federation contract. The chain of command, all the way up to the Mayor, seems to be abdicating its responsibility to approve or deny due to budget constraints.
