Nice. Yeah, I was expecting to pull the Dan Hipps before I pulled the new Nimrod 😅 I pulled that one before the others! I've been getting some amazing splits on Characters too! I just hit Character Mastery Level 30 for Cosmo last night. She's my 27th character mastered now.

Neuroscientists discovered something shocking: your brain doesn't care if your thoughts are true... it just believes whatever you think on repeat.

It shows a scan of a brain and then neurons

telling your brain "i know you don't wanna do the thing and it'll be very uncomfortable for you at first but you can do it buddy. it'll be fine" is actually surprisingly effective. it sounds too simple but that fuckass organ WILL listen to you if you treat it with kindness lol

Your brain is wired to believe what you tell it repeatedly, whether it's true or not. This is rooted in a concept called neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganize itself and form new neural pathways based on repeated thoughts, behaviors, and experiences. Basically, the more you think a certain way, the stronger that pathway becomes, making it feel more “true” over time.

This is why negative self-talk can become a real problem. If someone repeatedly tells themselves they can't do something or that they're not good enough, the brain starts to treat that as fact, even without real evidence behind it. Neuroscientists have studied this for decades, showing that repetition strengthens neural connections the same way practicing a skill does, except it works for both helpful and harmful thoughts.

On the flip side, this also means people can retrain their thinking. Speaking to yourself with patience instead of harsh criticism, especially when doing something difficult or new, has been shown to make follow-through easier. It's not about ignoring reality or forcing fake positivity, it's about giving your brain consistent, encouraging input so it works with you instead of against you.
