Good Public Good
@kelitupu
Palestinian, black, trans lives matter. White people chose DEI instead of adhering to Civil Rights Act altogether. We’re still dealing w/after effects of Reconstruction & longstanding, feckless liberal class unwilling to confront fascists. MMT. Punch up.
This is the only appropriate comment someone like Graham deserves in death
Also trite and cliche pointing it out at this juncture, but nonetheless true, this is the material difference in outcomes between feckless Dems and fascist republicans.
[FILL IN NAME OF ANY REPUBLICAN] was "supposed to be one of the reasonable ones" - has basically become the epitaph of choice for most if not all Republicans who once claimed the mantle of conservatism as the "free market, libertarian, live and let live, states-rights" liars they have proven to be.
A reminder of just who Rufo is (& himself has said quite explicitly from very beginning who he is) & what he’s about. Klein is a professional journalist w/paid staff whose job is to research & verify. All of this is & has been known & is easily discoverable. Embarrassing. @ezraklein.bsky.social
The conservative movement has broadly devolved into fascism around the world, leaving liberal/left wing parties as the only functioning options—but they keep bringing knives to gunfights & triangulating even more to the Right. These are the stakes. www.newscientist.com/article/2531...
Meanwhile, over on the hellsite. Once again - post racial America my ass. Shooting at a car with a baby in it, then some asshle accusing the mom of using the baby as a human shield w/no proof www.knowyourrightscamp.org/post/police-...
Now, using this as your baseline, extrapolate across policy arenas over the last decade including Trump era I and this 2nd go around to see just how insane and crazy everything under this orange clown has been. It’s endless
@espn.com getting in on the feckless @nytimes.com manufacturing consent game with air quotes around “oppressed” - which actually accurately describes what happened when you read their own story they themselves wrote and publicly posted
“Complicate” That is a verb, for sure. There are others you could have used, @npr.org. Torpedoed. Sabotaged. Reject. Oppose. I guess the choice was complicated. Trump targets you for defunding. Defunds you, actually. And you still aim for the ground with your impartiality play. Amazing.
yeah turns out you can just do stuff when you want to, either for good or bad and all the procedural reasons you cite are just that...words that you're reciting.
All of this, on the backs of public, monies, i.e. government funding, for which American taxpayers receive no material benefit or ownership in the long run. Neoliberalism and corporate welfare in all its glory.
In another time, Drey Dossier would be a Senior Investigative reporter at the NYT or 60 minutes. Vital reporting and a must subscription on a YouTube and elsewhere youtu.be/MgJIxsSQZV8?...
Unserious, bad faith people like this are fundamentally lazy. Even when you spoon fed them relevant info, they still refuse to do the reading, even if that reading is the intro to an abstract or bullet point summaries. All they are seeking is anything that confirms their biases about the world
This is in large or substantial part why Dems and its centrist base actually lose elections.
Gaza is literally in the report. And from which wing of the Democratic Party does Biden come from, ie who was THE president who chose not to honor his promise to leave (office) after 1 term? Did bernie and AOC campaign vigorously in his behalf or not? Completely Unserious
If you’re theory of change involves not changing anything, and that’s something you’ve arrived it by way of intentional propganada campaigns by politicians on either side, then you are the mark. You’ve been taken advantage of by some combo of your own priors & people targeting those priors.
cool on my mind this morning cause i literlaly got a text from my centrist normie friend about polling. of course it's a NYT piece saying we should move back to the "center" lol
Please enjoy a video of @chrisrabb.com supporters last night at his victory party appropriately and joyously stating the obvious that not only did Rabb win last night, but yes, indeed, AIPAC, by extension, lost.
I guess one question I have is, if Massie chose to reveal redacted names on the house floor by way of protected free speech in his role as congressperson; if Trump’s name is one of the redacted names in the file— Why hasn’t he already revealed Trump’s name as being in the files?
Faceless, bureaucratic violence inflicted by the state by way of corporate middleman. Policy is everything. We choose these things. We can choose differently.
These people are never honest brokers about the actual things they've said they believe in and stood on. All day long, they literally just vomit out their own self-annointed treatises on so-called "reality," just saying "things" without any concern about being morally or principally consistent.
If this quote was instead about a sitting democratic president responding to a leftist podcaster functionally dictating U.S. policy into reality, on a virtual whim, the headlines would all be about that, from Fox to the NYT, for weeks and it would be a huge scandal
