This last weekend, I finally visited the nearby Poozeum, a museum dedicated to coprolites (fossilized poop). I very much enjoyed the Poozeum and have exhausted my family poop puns for day.
I literally work next to the historic Cinder Lakes Astronaut Training Fields. Today was the first time I've actually walked through them. It was fascinating and more interesting than I expected. Most unexpected: all of the rocks, large and small, that were hauled in.
When you're in Tucson at UA and the Elite 8 game is about to start.... you go to the watch party.
Not very visible with unaided eye, but the phone is picking up the northern lights from Flagstaff AZ.

Looking a bit apocalyptic at work today (the smoke is from a nearby prescribed burn, so it's actually a good thing)
For those looking for a nostalgic distraction - you can play a version of Pacman by clicking on today's Google header.
Yesterday evening I got up on the mountain to enjoy some nice fall color among the Aspens. We also got my son some great senior pictures.
When your kid has a soccer game at Grand Canyon HS, you stop and enjoy the view.
I hear that it's World Snake Day, so here's a pic of a Diamondback Water Snake that my son found in Oklahoma last weekend.
Visited one of my favorite places in Arizona yesterday - Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. It's the world's largest travertine natural bridge and an amazing oasis.
With so much of my career in AZ, I've got lots of chrysotile 'laying' around. A few samples live in the yard collection area from an old mine in the Salt River Canyon. Even some in a core on my office shelf from mine site (skarn). I've never worried about it since I don't grind it up and breath it.
I've been interested in bird watching for a while, but never really taken a full step toward it. But today I downloaded the Merlin app and have started to play with it. I think I will enjoy it.
Pleasantly surprised to see an eagle today - usually they migrate north with only a few hanging around all summer.
I was pleasantly surprised to see this eagle this morning. Most eagles migrate north by this time of the year, with only a small year-round population.
On Saturday night, I really enjoyed the Candlelight Coldplay performance in Flagstaff! I look forward to seeing more of these performance. I feel like Coldplay songs are particularly suited for performances like this. feverup.com/m/305289
