As I head to bed on my final night in Italy … DAFUQ?! Did I discover something thousands of historians, artists and scientists before my viewing had not? No. But seeing this guy in person yesterday was something else. (And arriving in Venice by water taxi has possibly changed a piece of my soul.)
I’m on my third. They are the best and the worst. 😂 But the best outweighs the worst, making them quite addictive — most of us end up being breed loyal after 1.
East Coast folks, FYI: tornado watch vs tornado warning, re: 3/15-3/16 weather. #ncweather #tornadowatch #tornadowarning
This showed up on my FB feed. I’m annoyed AF with the NHL, so it’s a good reminder there are still good people in sports — and in North Carolina at that. @charlotteroyalsrfc.bsky.social is on BlueSky, but hasn’t posted in a while. #charlottenc #rugby
Some of us have been commenting on his IG posts, I don’t think he’s posted since leaving for the Olympics (weird), but I bet his block finger will be busy when he gets back. And comments are active on a HurricanesReport’s post.
And it really burns my butter because THIS. Their own analytics showed ACTUAL fans were not the problem! (I think this was 2020. That’s where it is in my photo library.)
A friend posted this evening about icy conditions on the WV Turnpike — I-77, especially at the tollbooths. The frost is racially profiling and targeting work trucks. #wvturnpike #fuckice #i77 #westvirginia
Oh goodness! I hope you are on the mend and are able to go home soon. As bad as all of that sounds, at least it wasn’t worse — you didn’t mention a head injury, so I presume you thankfully avoided that. (Going down stairs forward is also hazardous, btw.)
Apparently no DMing pix — hopefully this doesn’t get flagged, but here’s 3 weeks post-op. (They’re not super gross but a bit more visually assaulting than the 7-month pix.) This was 4 days after getting out of the splint and stitch removal. (Some remnants were left, but they fell out on their own.)
Friday will be 7 mos since surgery. Pics taken this a.m. Also, this is 50yo skin. I’m convinced the anterior “dot” on the top of my foot is better than all the others bc the effing splint compressed it for 16 days. It looks better but I’m sure it’s why I still have a numb spot on my big toe.
Wishing you both a speedy recovery! (I broke an ankle earlier this year — I know the struggle of compromised mobility.)
Time for my annual watching of “Single All the Way” on Netflix — I love this movie. P.S., Triangle-area folks, consider checking out La Carreta at Wade/Oberlin — adorably decked out for Christmas, with some yummy drinks served in big holiday mugs. (I had The Nutcracker.) #raleighnc #christmas
This one’s an excellent song for a morning alarm — it’s a nice build up so it’s not jarring. I’ve been using it for probably 10 years.
Totally looks like a Home Depot trip! I’m not sure what the *total* ended up being — I think there were 2 or 3 different billings. I waited until they all had plenty of time to go through insurance adjustments before I paid anything. I imagine foot bones required a more nuanced surgery, too.
I think my total from the surgical center was something like $15k, pre-insurance. When I saw my surgery x-ray, I said my (deceased) dad would 100% have said he could have made that out of some stuff he had in the shop and 83 cents.
