That’s awesome! For me the honeymoon with the EC-1 was short, in that I quickly stopped fussing with it and just got on with playing. It really sounds great.

I found an app called Horika which is a Holga-style toy cam app. You have to choose your film, you get a 12 shot roll before you can change again, you have to advance the film before taking a new shot or enjoy the double exposure. It forces you to think about your shot. It’s nice!

New pedal day! I sold my El Capistan for the EC-1. It sounds wonderful, does what I want, possibly better than the El Capistan without the extra stuff the El Cap does that I never use. Happy boy!

Just to make the point, how guitarists judge with eyes more than ears, my current favorite pedal is the Soldano SLO pedal. Yes, it sounds amazing, but just look at it! It's bright fuschia purple anodized brushed aluminum and the retro/modern mix of Eurostile and Futura fonts just fuckin' melts me. 😍
So here we are, the oldest instrument I’ve personally ever worked on. This is a late 1962 Höfner model 182 E2 bass. It was in really bad shape when I got it I’ve made it playable and I’m really happy about that!
In the in side of the coverlet (?) I kept this business card. On the back I wrote the wavelengths of the main mercury emission lines, very handy for quick calibration of spectrophotometers using fluorescent lighting as a source
My old 1990 scientific calculator had its one and only battery change 35 years after I bought it, but, alas, the sticky zero button is now totally non functional. Farewell, old friend. We did great science together.
