Read no.18 of 2026 and only one more needed to complete my challenge. Really liked this, reminded me a lot of Lisa Jewell, which is why a friend lent it to me. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Definitely a satisfying conclusion.

Read no.17 of 2026. It's taken me a long time to get through this but it was an interesting and insightful read. Over 10 years old, and is a bit outdated in places but a good chronology of autism from Hans Asperger through to more modern views.

Read no.15 of 2026. I know a lot of people love Sally Rooney's writing but I really didn't like this. The writing style made it very difficult to read and when did we stop using speech marks??? This was a book club read so I'll be interested to see what the others thought of it 💙📚

Read no.14 of 2026. This grew on me as I progressed with it. A good story about life and how we don't always have control over what happens to us 📚💙

Read no.12 of 2026. Loved this, tragic, devastating and uplifting in equal measures. Never thought about the women that served in Vietnam? No, me neither. This is a story, albeit fiction based on fact, that needs to be told 📚💙

Read no.11 of 2026. Loved this, it made me happy, it made me sad, and it made me angry that two people in love had to hide that love away. Highly recommend 💙📚

When for a short local bird walk to try out my new camera. It was a lovely walk and had a few photographic opportunities. Was impressed with the quality of the photos, especially when compared with my phone, which I was using previously. These are some of my favourites 📸🦢

Read no.7 of 2026. I've always avoided Maeve Binchy books as I've thought them 'granny' books but a friend gave me this to read, so I gave it a go. Well, I really liked it and am now a Maeve Binchy convert 💙📚

Read no.3 of 2026. I'd forgotten just how much Kathy Burke has done when I read this. It's a great read, honest and unpretentious, and if you're woke AF, like me, you'll like it. I didn't think I could love her more but there you go... 💙📚

Read no.2 of 2026. This was a book club read and not something I would have chosen for myself (in fact none of us did, the librarian chose it) but it wasn't too bad, other than a very irritating main character. I'd recommend for anyone that wants a lightweight Christmas read.

Read no.1 of 2026, I try to read books that have won one of the major literary prizes and normally I'm left wondering why it won. However, in this instance, I can see why this won the Women's Prize for Fiction. Beautifully written and very insightful into post war Europe. Highly recommend 📚💙

Read no.21 of 2025 and book club no.5. This made me deeply uncomfortable but I guess that was the aim. The writing is very good but at the same time I wasn't sure how I was meant to view Tom Ripley, was he supposed to be some kind of anti-hero or was he just a repulsive human being 💙📚

Very disappointed that Hertfordshire @libdems.org.uk have resorted to Tory tactics by dressing up a flyer as a newspaper. I'd also be interested to see evidence for the paragraph circled in second picture, where I live Reform are (sadly) winning and I'm not sure GP supporters are voting Lib Dem

This little one joined our family a couple of weeks ago and it's safe to say she is a little 😈 for much of her waking hours but the first few minutes after she wakes from a nap, when she just wants a cuddle and a scritch, are just lovely 😍
