Old batch and new batch. Last couple of years have seen very few monarchs… this year I have two broods.
Mine too…. Saw about six big caterpillars munching away a couple of weeks ago and saw the first new one emerge this week. I guess if we all do our small part.
Chased squirrels. Barked at people on street. Ran around garden harassing a butterfly. Now taking a well earned rest. The dog is too.
Bee enjoying some afternoon hyssop. Posted for no reason except it makes me happy to see.
Winnipeg is 48 degrees C with the humiidex. Seems like a cold beer sort of day.
Spurs fan here and West Ham losing yesterday only benefits Tottenham. But for this goal to ruled out by VAR is ridiculous. Arsenal do this to other goalies ALL THE TIME. And no call. Second there are two penalty shouts for holding in this one picture alone. EPL reffing is shockingly poor and biased.
How’s the novel draft editing going?”Er…. Been thinking about one of the characters…”
This is what writing a book looks like. There is a joy and pain to this process. There is nothing like having it all fall together, when those holes are plugged and those problems resolved. Typing some prompt into an AI program is just soulless laziness. Why would you even bother?
Just watched The Fabulous Baker Boys last night…. Very 80s with that Dave Grusin jazz score but what a brilliant, sexy film it is. Simple story told well, with great performances by both the Bridges and Pfeiffer. You could teach that in film writing class.
It’s weird, but I always want to read the book before I see the movie, but never the other way round.
Am I paranoid to wonder why you popped up in my timeline just as I am reading this? Is my phone watching me? Good list ….great book btw.
post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.
That feeling you get when you only write 300 words but it’s a pivotal and important 300 words.
Who came up with the phrase “working like a dog”? As far as I can tell this guy’s day involves looking cute, eating sleeping and a quick once round the yard. Working not a high priority.
I would love to live next to the lake here, but then I hear the racket this lot is making tonight and I wonder…
Does seem like tonight is the last truly warm night for walking the dog around the lake. Winter is coming. But not yet.
