Filmmaker, write some things, edit some things others have written, not in Vampire Academy.
I love UK politics. Donald Trump would never set up an office above a Slug and Lettuce.
The Clockwise Man by Justin Richards was my introduction to non-TV Doctor Who. He made telling an entertaining Who story seem effortless. RIP.
I think the most disingenuous part of the narrative around Starmer, which he repeated in his resignation speech, is that he brought Labour back from the electoral brink. Labour got fewer votes in 2024 than in 2017 or 2019! They won because the Tories lost support more than they did!
And in recent elections, the joke candidates have done a great job of positioning themselves near to the most prominent/favourite candidates, ensuring photos like this
I’m so glad I live in an area where neither Reform nor Tories made the top three parties. We may need to erect a wall around it to keep the rest of the country out. Blackfriars-and-Trinexit.
John Jackson Miller’s run of Knights of the Old Republic. It absolutely gets Star Wars - a ragtag bunch of heroes, high stakes adventure with big twists, lightness of touch. Ties nicely into the games without forcing it. Endlessly re-readable.
Read this headline, try to guess where he was when this happened, and then find the article for the answer.
The meerkat and lemur meeting experience was my Christmas present and was so much fun – at one point I had about five meerkats climbing over me. But as part of the normal zoo admission, you can hand feed a lot of the animals, including wallabies! Who's the wallaby boy now, Brandon??
A trip to Hoo Zoo in Telford! Not one of the big boys of the zoo world, but it completely surpassed my expectations.
“Mummy, where’s the Earl of Devon?” children across the nation will scream, tears rolling down their cheeks as they stare aghast at BBC Parliament.
All restaurants should have a little cinema room where you can go have some quiet time watching Shrek 2.
Just call this one the War Mayor and keep the mainstream numbering clean.
New greatest life achievement unlocked… I’ve had a submission accepted to Harry Hill’s mattress-themed Instagram advent calendar.
Two new people have logged Secrets of a Wallaby Boy on Letterboxd! I wonder what they thought... Amazing how often this has happened in the past year. I seem to have made a uniquely divisive movie.
James and Tori meet on the Piccadilly line, but their attempts to get to know each other are interrupted by everyone from a hen party to William Shakespeare. I’ve been meaning to catch Cockfosters since my writer friend Tom Woffenden told me about it a long time ago and finally made it this week.
