I'm pet-sitting for a band teacher & his wife, and their dog has been a little anxious tonight looking around for her owners. She wasn't settling down to sleep, and I remembered her dad's trombone in the living room... she fell right asleep when I put on some trombone etudes. 🥺

Unemployment feeling a lot more bearable from the Abbey coffeeshop. If I have to write and re-write resumes and cover letters all morning, at least I can do it with the sound of church bells, noon prayer, and one of the most gorgeous libraries I've ever set foot in. :)

Flash forward to *months* later, and I get an email telling me that they've "identified an issue with a part" and are sending me a replacement. They don't make the Restore 1 anymore, so I can pick the color of the *Restore 3* I want, instead.

Husband is out of state visiting a friend, and today I REPLACED OUR TOILET VALVE MYSELF. It no longer OVERFLOWS OUT ONTO THE FLOOR and shuts off properly. $15 fix, and I was seriously wondering just a week ago whether we needed an entirely new toilet. 😂 I feel so powerful right now.
they're getting so big ‼️ today was their first day being put outside for the whole day & just coming in at night. they're almost fully-feathered now!!

Having chickens is so cool, you guys. Like, what do you mean these birds live at my house now? And in the Fall they're going to start giving me eggs? And I can just throw my kitchen scraps outside and they'll eat them??
