It cooled down to 93 degrees here in Houston today so it was time for shabu at my favorite place.
After 4 delays and 2 flight cancellations…daughter finally made it back to Boston just in time for her Ariana concert tonight. She’s pretty happy right now ❤️
Was going to make a fresh fruit cream sponge cake but the strawberries weren’t very good so ended up making a chocolate cream pie instead, lol. Wrapped it up to give away since I’m still dieting 😩
The savory butter ones are better for sliders. Just made some lastnight with a thicker beef patty and slightly toasted rolls. It was delicious.
At my favorite Shabu place and we’re the only table here. Never seen it this dead before 😔
Got bored so made everything from scratch to kill the time. Who says you have to wait for Thanksgiving to have a turkey dinner?

Made a blueberry lemon castella cake for myself but was too lazy to put use a tip for the whipped cream icing so just made bubbles instead, lol
So my lemon cream cheese rolls were good but I’m partial to everything with brown butter and cinnamon

I have very low tolerance for alcohol so will only indulge on rare occasions when I’m stuck at one place with nothing to do but just sit for a few hours
