A stray of any age, abandoned by society, deserves a new home. It may not be yours. But you can be a stepping stone.

Shadow was rescued at 6 weeks old, as part of TNR in his neighborhood. Over 100 cats were fixed in that neighborhood over 10 years.

Now, there are no more than 1 -2 litters born a year in that neighborhood. I wish it were none. We remove the kittens and trap the moms between 6 and 10 weeks old.

Neighbors provide food, water and shelter to the cats. The feral colonies slowly decrease to practically zero.

Oh, and there are plenty of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, newts, frogs, and insects still in the area.

Be more patient than you think you need to. Get a double gate to separate but allow sight. (I found a 71" high door gate, expensive... But if you do get it, it would be a most amazing donation to a frequent adult foster.)

A full height door pet gat that spans 29.92" to 63.42" wide, 71" high. Has a swinging, self-close door and narrow spaced bars.

I've never had a cat climb over.
