After my last colony died last winter, I just figured I'd take a break and get some bees again next year. I've never quite gotten around to taking that hive down though, and apparently sometime in the last week a neighborhood swarm decided it was a great little fixer-upper, and moved in. 🐝🐝🐝

A Langstroth-style beehive sits on a hill covered in overgrown grasses and other green plants. It is dusk. Three boxes are visible, stacked on each other. One is white, one is white with teal decorative stripes and circles, and one is grey. All of them are dirty and worn from use. Several honeybees are clustered on the outside of the hive, around a small gap between the bottom and middle boxes. A few more bees can be seen just inside the hives entrance on the bottom board.
