It's been a while, now, and I'm probably whining about it. Most anyone who sees this won't have a clue, either. I just miss the Krakoan Era of the Xmen. It was so unique, and I sometimes wonder if we will ever see a long version of it in televised media? Will I live that long?
I haven't posted an album I'm listening to lately, so here's what's on now (Telephone Line). ELO is one of my top ten musical acts whose discography I'd take on a desert island.

Unboxing and reorganizing all my stuff following installation of new floors while I was visiting family in Door County, WI. It so much better, but there are a lot of boxes. I hope to be done by Sunday. New furniture TBD.

Visiting family in Door County, WI. Have not seen my sibs in a few years. Having a lovely time, its very pretty here on the shore of Lake Michigan. Even better I get to have a line of Thunderstorms roll thru in the evening. We don't get them often in OR. I love them and miss them. Charge up!

Supertramp: Breakfast in America (1979) is one of those core albums I had from growing up. I was 14. I'm pretty sure I got it for a penny off Columbia House. Today, I could have bought a new remastered version for $35, but it is even more satisfying to find an authentic pressing for $10.
This must be pretty new. A Meadery in my neighborhood. Looks like they even have live music & poetry sometimes. Note the name. IYKYK.
Came across this absolute gem at a local yard sale (plus a couple others) at 3/$10 more than worth it to me for this album alone. I highly recommend "China Grove" with a good turntable and a nice set of, preferably, analog speakers. Doobie optional. Doobie Brothets - The Captain & Me (1973)
I love having company stay for a few days. The disruption of my routine is worth seeing how that routine might be putting me in a rut. I'm not necessarily opposed to ruts. Mindful repetition has many uses. The key word being "mindful". Here are the boys in a box.
Happy Beltane! Summer is not waiting around here in the Portland area. It may hit 90F this weekend. We've had very little precipiatation so far this year so I think I'm gonna toss in the ol' three-step rain shuffle for good measure.
Gotta say, one of my top ten favorite albums. Almost everything in that range for me is equally enjoyable and treasured. Which others, you may ask? Unlikely that any asked but I guess I have a few followers so I'm putting this up for internet posterity, which remembers all.
Such as Michael Jackson/Thriller (1982). Early pressing. Wasn't expecting to come across it and ya its likely easy to find, since its the best selling album of all time. But I haven't seen it yet so it went home with me. Michael was more cultural than personal for me. Vincent Price RIP we miss u
This setup is better. Solid cheap used table with drawer for stuff like record cleaner, cords, adapters and such. For now, my new favorite sound is that crackle and pop on vinyl as the stylus lowers before the first song plays.
It lives! My new Fluance turntable and speakers which don't look like much but have considerable authority and are perfect for the space. Breaking "Flo" in with a little Steely Dan. It sounds so nice--full, rich and warm. That slightly scratchy sound off an LP is nice in its own way, too.
Several hundred of us in my little community in Oregon. So much honking! Wear headphones next time.
After a 40 year hiatus Im back into vinyl! Im irrationally excited to be buying my first albums in decades. What can I say? I was in need of a new hobby. Portland also has a strong collecting scene in this regard. This is B-side records
