Several years ago I got a sudden creative urge. Still think this is a pretty neat piece - 'Long Cat Roams the Multiverse' #art #mixedmedia #longcat
Randomly got followed by a group of accounts that didn't have avatars, and now suddenly all have generic face shots. Hello bots. Hows the en-deadening of the internet going?
Because what goes around comes around, if you see this, share a circle, a disk, something round.
I was struggling to get my xp pen artist 15.6 to work with my PC, it wanted all the other screens the same small resolution to sync the cursor properly. But thankfully it works pretty well with the steam deck. Now I need to install a graphics app on my deck...
We have a disability bathroom from when my grandma was alive, but the floor doesn't properly contain the water. Some dark stains have built up I dunno how to get rid of? Bleach soaking didn't help much (pics are before/after)
Between Overwatch's original preview week and release was like drug withdrawal. I spent it designing all kinds of custom characters. One of my favourites was a fat squat guy driving a chibified, weaponized Dekotora truck that played like a mix of Torbjorn and D.Va
"Think back to your childhood. Do you remember when the anxiety started?"
The only thing I've seen that comes close to Yoshitaka's illustrations is the Jodorowsky Dune artwork - similarly bold, vibrant, and embracing crazy patterns with hard geometric technology.
Widgets are in play along with the add tool allowing left-click to add new points. The data and nodes are properly separated, and the direction arrows use a bake of curve, check the length for the closest point, and look slightly ahead of that to get a direction. Phew! Slowly getting there.
Back to Phantom Power after I lost all my work last year. I knew I needed to rebuild it anyway, the first draft was very roughly implemented (one dictionary to rule them all). I learned a lot from the first try, and more from my Zelda project, so now feels a good time. Rebuilt the UI in one day.
Remaking the UI elements of my song editor, but I have a UX question. My nodes are diamonds, and the centre of the editor is represented by a crosshair. The 'return to centre' button used to have a circular centre, but should it be consistent (diamond for both?) or circle for both? Or as it was?
Phew, so now I have support for general branches, conditional branching, and actions which can trigger code like reducing rupees and updating game state flags! This combines with custom formatting, bbcode support, and turbo mode. #godot #gamedev #zeldagodot
I haven't seen many horror films, but I was a fan of the surrealist Japanese horror Gozu. A senile yakuza member has to be taken to the countryside to be executed, but things go awry in increasingly surreal ways. Director Takashi Miike delivers Cronenburg vibes in this dream-like nightmare!
One of my favortie D&D group's unsolved mysteries was their attempt to heist a valuable artifact from a casino vault. They sneak in, reach the room, and moments before entering there's a loud ruckus - they hesitate, and as things go quiet the door creaks open to reveal chaos.
No idea what the source on this is, but man it really captures the more cyberpunk / goth / Lain vibes the first Matrix encapsulated. What do you call this? Tech-gore? Definitely has a stronger vibe than the post-apocalyptic zion and clean, slick matrix styles of the sequels.
Time for the yearly sheering. Lovely to have a haircut that doesn't leave me looking like Cailou. The lady was very gentle and clocked the tism immediately ❤️
May I suggest Fingeringhoe, down by the south green, below high park corner.
I thought entirely too long and too hard about this, but here we go. Doing this with no dupes was really tough.
Phew, another chunk of functionality sorted! The dialogue system uses chunks of dialogue divided into segments, then sentences with a speaker label. The bbcode is broken down so tags come out whole and text within is put out letter by letter to prevent colours popping in. #godot #gamedev #zeldagodot
The game was 'what if magic appeared in London' so we took some every-day folks and magically amped up their abilities. A medical student who heals, a police woman given super strength, an engineer who can build magical devices. It was fun making something as a real game dev team with set roles.
Fun Fact: At university I was a finalist in the 2008 Dare Protoplay. We weren't told the scope so we made a contemporary action RPG. I did the level design and modelled an underground station featuring posters of our friend's band posters and art. We presented it for 2 days in Edinburgh at the EIF.
Whew okay I think pits are solved. They can be closed and open up from standing too long on it, and they pull you in, you shake when trying to escape, and you get respawned nearby (I have a grid of collision shapes that mirror the gb game screens, they update your respawn pos when touched)
