Communication & sport scholar, views my own. Cat mom. MN Lynx super fan. Still holding out for a Cleveland baseball World Series wins!
I was excited that our local theatre got the Invite when no other theatre nearby did. However, A24 has to pay for some better posters!
Great turnout on pride night at the Minnesota Lynx!! Olivia Miles in person with 3 assists already!
So many of us are here because our grandparents/parents/great grandparents survived WWII. Both my grandfathers served along with their brothers, and only one of my great uncles (my grandma's brother) was killed in action. Thinking about all of the people who didn't come back from this terrible war.
The most Canadians I've seen out and about in the Twin Cities. Canada day at target field! Blue jays v twins (and the tempo in town Friday against the lynx).
Catching up on @thepressbox.bsky.social after the holidays and I'm delighted to have @bryancurtis.bsky.social's recap of the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa! It's incredible & hope that they still have the binders of letters people wrote to him in 1999 that I saw during my 2003 visit.
Glad I wasn't the only one watching this game on my phone between meetings at work! Everyone watches women's sports!!
Every exhausted traveling mom has been Kate McAllister. Thank you and RIP to the Canadian comedy queen Catherine O'Hara. This year's Home Alone viewing will just be a little bit sadder.
They have been going pretty hard with ticket sales too - but there's no CBA!
My women's DIII college team is having a pregnancy and infant loss awareness night.
RIP to Rob Reiner - one of the most prolific directors when I was discovering movies as a child/teen.
Our local indie theater doing it right! Diane Keaton & Robert Redford tribute this week and then 3 weeks straight of Wicked for good. Can't wait to see Sneakers on the big screen 30 years later
I know that Robert Redford did a ton for the film industry, but all I keep thinking is that another one of the legends from Sneakers is gone! (because if you were in middle school in the early 1990s, this was in heavy rotation)
Could be working on deadlines, but instead, cheering on my minnesota lynx!!
When my high school moved to a new building/football stadium in 1994, they dedicated the stadium to Charles Follis without much explanation of his significance. This weekend, I got to see the dedication marker honoring him outside of the stadium. blackcyclone.org
Of course our Chicago pope has an honorary pizza (Aurelio's) Does the Vatican count as a Chicago suburb?
All of our summer travel this year involved places we used to live. Sports connection #1 Caitlin Clark merchandise at the HyVee
Shout out to the African American Museum of Iowa for having these two gems for sale in their clearance section!
Thank you 1970s era St Paul city government for building this beautiful Japanese garden in honor of their sister city Nagasaki.
As a kid - Theo was my favorite big brother on TV. As a parent, I loved that Malcolm-Jamal Warner was on the original Magic School Bus. #RIP
Shout out to the festival parking lot for having a great view of our sunset!
Lynx were down by 15, now up by 3 with a minute left! I love this game! @wnba.com
