I write words. Some of them are good. Sci-fantasy tales with Norsey bits and whatever I post on my blog. Rainbows are cool. Fascists are not. Don’t give our jobs to a robot.
Its done. 24” tall. 23” wide. 17” deep. It holds my dnd books. My minis. Accessories. Has handles and wheels. Prolly takes 2 people to load into the car. Cost more than i’d like to built. But hauls in one trip. Worth it.
Logan, our Indian Ringneck, died last night in his sleep. 17 years old. Here’s a pic from flappier times
All the fabricating seems to be done. I started painting the frame before wrapping up for the day. Tomorrow i stain wood. Hopefully sunday i can assemble Slow going because i do a cut or drill a bit, then rest in shade with fan. I was sweat soaked all day
Finishing my comicpalooza weekend at Pappadeux’s Met ton of writers like @jrmartin.bsky.social so that’s awesome. Here’s a pic of me fighting evil
Waiting for the restaurant to open so i can wait with AC for comicpalooza to open
Looking to come closer to a tonal match on the loki horns (foam) to the loki hand guard (leather) I think its a lot closer. Used and acrylic bronze which was the closest match i could find and many black washes
I finished the quiver. But word is cops were confiscating props at the con yesterday. So they aren’t carrying props today. They went plainclothes yesterday.
Got up early and did some work on the block of arrows Next step is a belt hanger for it And some mods to the wood kiddie bow we had for a cosplay
Wife and friend are cosplaying a con this weekend. Friend wants to be an archer. I can do that… Old leather quiver. Block of wood. Dowels. Tagboard piece of spam. Painting and staining, then gluing. Then i rework how the quiver mounts to belt or back.
I finished the dnd ship this weekend Each deck is a layer and comes off to reveal the next. So when boarders appear again, we can fight them off in tactical style Wood work is basic here, but the laser engraver did a great job laying out the grid and walls
Progress on the dnd ship Just the lower deck and bilge to cut out. Then much sanding. Might buy a table sander today…
Success. Loki paldron strap anchor works. I don’t love the position of the front strap and its plate bit, but thats how it came riveted. When the black pleather breaks on day…. The anchor bit works great. Can’t see it with the coat, so the lesser detailing won’t matter
Jaheira stands next to the coffee table. Her mouth overhangs it. A few drops of drool fall. She licks them off the table. What a considerate dog
Slowly dirtying up the leather bits that will anchor my paldron to my belt loop My friend Lee is sewing a new chain mail piece onto the armor. The. She’ll work out the holes in the coat for the paldron straps to pass in order to reach the aforementioned anchor
The Sea Ghost laser engraving stage is done. Next step(next week?) is to cut them out, sand, drill for the mast, make the mast with sail and crows nest, then stain and seal. Also, the prototype for the leather project to anchor my Loki Pauldron is done. Tomorrow i build the real ine
It’s out this morning. So while yhe wife sleeps in, i am laser engraving the main deck of our d&d ship and designing the mounting solution for my Loki cosplay pauldron Starting with cardboard to test sizing/shaping
Caught the full moon through my neighbor’s tree, reminded me of a painting i did. Photo isn’t quite what i saw, thanks to camera traits, but I tuned the pic to be closer
It is Jaheira’s birthday today because we did math based on her medical records which included a WAG. Here she is in a longdog snuggle, her second ever.
That more than what i got so far on my short story. Good job! Here’s a dog pic! I’ve been keeping my nibbly dog away from nibbling things. Like your manuscript. :)
I may have come into a few credits. Perhaps enough to leave this planet. Yeehaw Great time playing Sabacc this weekend. As the last hand, i raked in a lot of creds by building a great hand and cajoling a few fish to take a chance because “it’s the last hand” A bit of luck and mind trick
Jaheira is snuggling the wife’s legs on the couch. This is the very first snuggle. I lifted her up and she sat down and then after a bit, laid down. Now, nobody dares move.
Here’s a vid of the dog not chewing on my sword rack. Instead she’s playing with her giggle ball. Filmed by The Wife.
