Two round brown loaves, scored in a cross with subscores (?) between each quarter cool on a black metal rack. The loaves have expanded so the original surface, lightly dusted with flour, is smaller than the rough surface of the rest. A red thermometer, red butter dish, steel lame, Canada wildlife plate, wrinkled muslin dishtowel like my Mom’s lie in the background. All are on the white enamel surface my true love rescued from the antique lady for cheap.

Fun with very fast shutter speed/high ISO. Eucerine on Phacelia tanacetifolia, USA, Oregon, Benton County.

Blue scorpioid inflorescence with long filaments and blue anthers is visited by a ginger-haired long-horned bee boy. His wing venation is visible, but his tegula is not. The background is green foliage.

Lady Liriodendron has opened her first bud scales, and the first and palest Ribes sanguineum is showing away.

A glaucous, almost mauve brown tulip tree twig with two still-dormant lateral buds sports a terminal pair of ochre bud scales open below the greening bud

Well here’s a thing most folks don’t think about. I love this line! New England Ropes 1/8” dacron braid. A little stretchier than it could be but not parachute cord. the people who sold me this clearly don’t care about it. Had to fake it 3 times to get the twist out. Not cool. Not cool at all.
