Just finished my July Sock Squad socks and realized they count for this week’s #showmeyourknits because I’ve knit this pattern before! Still need to finish May SS and do all of June to catch up but currently focused on Antipodes and August yarn is coming soon. 😬 #knitsky 🧶
#wipwednesday I started my Antipodes! Very interesting construction. Blocking before picking up stitches because it was curling so bad. #knitsky
My #showmeyourknits this week includes some of my favorite sock blockers, knitting bag, and my favorite needles - chiaogoo interchangeables. I’m working on my Sock Squad July socks, which I doubled up to make DK socks but am adding in a teal to make them longer. #knitsky
#showmeyourknits is What’s on your needles? I’m still knitting this, but it’s currently off my needles for a try-on and to decide length. I’ve finally accepted the dark teal color, so that’s progress too 😉 Drops of Jupiter
Apparently MeMadeMay really burned me out on posting. I finally finished my 3 test knits and can work on projects that I can show again. Went back to Drops of Jupiter. Still thinking the dark teal is too dark, but I had decision paralysis so decided to keep knitting for now. #knitsky
Only one more year of homeschooling, and then I will have a lot of time on my hands. Decided to pick up another hobby and take an online watercolor class this summer. Not sure about my artistic ability, but I’m having fun! #watercolor
Happy last day of #MeMadeMay! Besides garden weekends I did a good job posting, but I’ve run out of items. I have an almost-finished knit top and a cut out Gypsum skirt that I still need to sew. But now I have a great idea of what I need to sew to complete my handmade wardrobe! #knitsky #sewing
#MeMadeMay Day 29 Well, I’ve run out of wearable main pieces. I have a few very early garments with a lot of mistakes and not my style anymore. So I’m wrapping up my Me Made May with accessories. Going to post my wall of most-worn shawls, though it’s too warm for one today. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 28 Wearing a light cardigan, Spring Fling, from Knitty magazine way back in the day. I knit this in 2009! It’s a perfect spring day and I think I’ll eat lunch outside. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 27 Today I’m wearing Tsumuzikaze by Japanese designer Michiyo. Incredibly drapey and comfy. I especially like the lace detail on the sleeves. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 26 Today I’m wearing Deschain by Leila Raven. This one was really quick to knit up and is great for a lazy day, which I’m doing today to recover from a busy weekend. I’m hoping to finish one of my test knit tops today too, but I’m far behind on this month’s sock squad. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 25 Mending. When you make your own clothes, a lot of time goes into it. Adding in the desire to be sustainable, if an item is damaged, I’ll do my best to fix it. Handknit socks have to be mended most, since they get the most wear, but I also have a brioche shawl with a hole. #knitsky
No Me Made May with clothing this weekend. I’ve been making food in the garden instead. I’ve got a lot planted, but still need to put the zucchini, beans, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, herbs, and probably other plants I’m forgetting in the ground, plus some more flowers. #gardening
#MeMadeMay Day 22 I’m starting to run low, but I found this sweater, Dillon, in my TBF pile and all it needed was ends to be woven in and blocking. Mostly stockinette but with typical Elizabeth Doherty details that make it special. And super soft Shibui Echo yarn. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 21 Wearing my Soft Current Sweater by @woolandpine.bsky.social today while wrapping up the school year with some final grading and reporting grades. Still chilly outside for a couple more days so I’m wearing my warmer sweaters while I can! #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 20 Hometown Cardigan by Verena Cohrs. I don’t wear this one very much. I was thinking about adding some toggle buttons down the front. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 19 Wearing Seaglass by @andrearangelknits.bsky.social and cuddling up with books and knitting today. It’s the last day of homeschool for my youngest, which we usually celebrate with froyo, but we’ll delay until next week because of the cold snap. #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 18 It’s cold and raining (and maybe snowing) again today so I’m wearing Arboreal by Jennifer Steinglass. Hope with me that my garden makes it through. I missed yesterday because it was just a lounge day - Need to sew some loungey items! #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 16 And this week’s #showmeyourknits because they are my current sweater WIPs! I have a couple more, but I’m actively working on these. Bubble Cardigan, Drops of Jupiter, and a test knit that I can only show the wrong side of. Excited about them all! #knitsky More info in alt text
#MeMadeMay Day 15 Not a great photo because I had to take a quick selfie on the way out to a comedy show tonight (Josh Johnson - it was so good!), but I wore my Calyx sweater by Elizabeth Doherty. Her details are amazing and result in an elevated piece with great fit! #knitsky
#MeMadeMay Day 14 Today I am not wearing but making. Starting with napkins because it has been a long time since I used to sewing machine and I need to reacquaint myself. Going to move on to a skirt next and then learn more about my serger, which I have barely used.
#MeMadeMay Day 13 Today I’m wearing my Pixie Cardi by @knitgraffiti.bsky.social with a very casual outfit, as I have another migraine and am mostly just lounging around. Enjoying the softness of this Hue Loco yarn! #knitsky
