August sock squad. I decided to pair August yarn with a fun speckled mini I already had for this fun extra-wide cuff. I think they will be perfect with lace-up boots. Pattern is Seeds of Summer socks. #knitsky

The beginning of a top-down sock. The cuff is knit in a star pattern with a speckled yarn of pale greens and tans. The leg of the sock is knit in a variegated tan colorway and has slip-stitch columns running down it.

This week’s Antipodes progress. I’ve actually completed the neckband and started a sleeve too. Will finish those before finishing the body. I was afraid there was too much brown, but I’m liking the shifting hues and think it works. #knitsky

A handknit sweater in progress. It is knit with a MC dark teal and a CC that is hue shifting with browns and oranges and blues. The saddle shoulder is striped. The body has a fun colorwork pattern with zigzags on one half and diamonds on the other. There are no sleeves or neckband yet knit, and the body is mostly knit but put in hold for now.

Antipodes update. Bed knitting with an audiobook on a very hot day. So much curling! There is a lot of blocking in my future, but I’m trying to get to joining in the round before blocking again. ♥️ 🧶 #knitsky

The start of a handknit sweater. It has a saddle construction which is knit in stripes with a teal yarn and a color changing yarn moving from brown to orange. Part of the back is knit and now the front is being knit until it can join with the back.

Just finished my July Sock Squad socks and realized they count for this week’s #showmeyourknits because I’ve knit this pattern before! Still need to finish May SS and do all of June to catch up but currently focused on Antipodes and August yarn is coming soon. 😬 #knitsky 🧶

July Sock Squad. Blue-green fairly vanilla socks with a contrast cuff. Pattern is Studland.

Another version of Studland socks from 8 years ago. These are a pink speckled yarn transitioning to purples in the cuff. These socks are longer, like leg warmers, as the pattern is written.

A weird piece of knitting that will become the “saddle shoulders” of a knit sweater. Knit in stripes with MC dark teal and CC a color shifting yarn going from browns in the background through pink and into orange in the foreground.

My #showmeyourknits this week includes some of my favorite sock blockers, knitting bag, and my favorite needles - chiaogoo interchangeables. I’m working on my Sock Squad July socks, which I doubled up to make DK socks but am adding in a teal to make them longer. #knitsky

Second of my recent test knits, the Flowers and Lace Tee by Annie Lupton. I modified this one to make it longer, so check out my ravelry page for details (linked below). Great lightweight summer top! #knitsky

Two posts in one day! Joji Locatelli published her new tank pattern, Marinera, today which I was able to test knit. I used a wool/silk/cashmere blend from Hidden Pond Yarns and it is oh so soft! 🫶🏻 #knitsky 🧶

Apparently MeMadeMay really burned me out on posting. I finally finished my 3 test knits and can work on projects that I can show again. Went back to Drops of Jupiter. Still thinking the dark teal is too dark, but I had decision paralysis so decided to keep knitting for now. #knitsky

The knitting - a top-down colorwork yoke. It’s knit in a dark grey for the MC, and cream, light teal, light grey, and a dark teal for the CCs. The dark teal is showing up ok in this picture because of the harsh sunlight but is harder to differentiate from the grey in any other light.

Happy last day of #MeMadeMay! Besides garden weekends I did a good job posting, but I’ve run out of items. I have an almost-finished knit top and a cut out Gypsum skirt that I still need to sew. But now I have a great idea of what I need to sew to complete my handmade wardrobe! #knitsky #sewing

#MeMadeMay Day 27 Today I’m wearing Tsumuzikaze by Japanese designer Michiyo. Incredibly drapey and comfy. I especially like the lace detail on the sleeves. #knitsky

#MeMadeMay Day 26 Today I’m wearing Deschain by Leila Raven. This one was really quick to knit up and is great for a lazy day, which I’m doing today to recover from a busy weekend. I’m hoping to finish one of my test knit tops today too, but I’m far behind on this month’s sock squad. #knitsky

I’m wearing a loose fitting, boho handknit top. It is boxy with a lace panel down the front, knit in a grey-blue color. It could probably use a good blocking.

#MeMadeMay Day 25 Mending. When you make your own clothes, a lot of time goes into it. Adding in the desire to be sustainable, if an item is damaged, I’ll do my best to fix it. Handknit socks have to be mended most, since they get the most wear, but I also have a brioche shawl with a hole. #knitsky

No Me Made May with clothing this weekend. I’ve been making food in the garden instead. I’ve got a lot planted, but still need to put the zucchini, beans, cucumbers, melons, pumpkins, herbs, and probably other plants I’m forgetting in the ground, plus some more flowers. #gardening

#MeMadeMay Day 22 I’m starting to run low, but I found this sweater, Dillon, in my TBF pile and all it needed was ends to be woven in and blocking. Mostly stockinette but with typical Elizabeth Doherty details that make it special. And super soft Shibui Echo yarn. #knitsky

Wearing a long-sleeve handknit sweater. It is mostly stockinette with drop-shoulder sleeves and a slip stitch vertical line down the front. It has a subtle v-neck and is knit with a two-stranded and two-tone yarn for texture. It has rolled hems on the body and sleeves.

Excellent back and shoulder seam details.

#MeMadeMay Day 14 Today I am not wearing but making. Starting with napkins because it has been a long time since I used to sewing machine and I need to reacquaint myself. Going to move on to a skirt next and then learn more about my serger, which I have barely used.
