It’s already been a delightful day here at Spun in Ann Arbor! I was able to spend some time gabbing with THEE Jillian Moreno which is always a treat. 🧶🧶🧶
My listen today for the drive to Ann Arbor for my pop up at Spun. I heard about this book from a delightful librarian who popped into my pop up at @moonandyarn.bsky.social who highly recommended it. See you tomorrow & Sunday at Spun! 🧶🧶🧶
And speaking of fiber--I've been dyeing a lot of new fiber to take with me to my pop up event at Spun Ann Arbor this coming weekend. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you there! If you can't make it to the event, I do have some fiber that I quietly put into the shop last week. 🧶🧶🧶
Spinners, how's your Tour been? I have been doing some spinning myself when I have a few minutes and it's been doing wonders for my nervous system. I mostly spin braids that have seen better days or are mess-ups in the dyeing process-- These are BFL/Silk and Polwarth/Silk. 🧶🧶
But it was worth it to see Japanese Breakfast and DCFC perform You Are A Tourist!
Taking a quick break from loading the car to admire my new WIP. I’m determined to use up a lot of leftovers in this Old Shale blanket. Loving the way the colors are flowing so far. Yarns are being held double. Since the balls are different amounts, colors are added randomly. See you tomorrow! 🧶🧶🧶
I’m heading to Pittsburgh Saturdayfor a one day event at @moonandyarn.bsky.social ! Hope to see you there. 🧶🧶🧶
I've scheduled some events for the next little bit. I hope to see some of you in Pittsburgh, Ann Arbor & Minneapolis! 🧶🧶🧶
Mildly obsessed with the red kiwis I bought at Trader Joe’s. Very sweet.
It's a big shipping day over here today! Murmuration and Dolly's Coat of Many Colors are heading out. In my down time, I'm working on a #Marettimo with Dolly's colorway and Raspberry Leaf Tea for the CC. So far, I'm loving how it looks. 🧶🧶🧶
Wound up two skeins of Dolly’s Cost of Many Colors for a new project. I’m having project indecision right now! 🧶🧶🧶
Smoothie Fingering has been replenished in the shop. This is a gorgeous silk and linen fingering weight yarn that is ready for the warmer temps. I used Moody Forest & Stormy to make my New Terrain by Yamagara. 🧶🧶🧶 www.kimdyesyarn.com/fingering-we...
Hi! I'm puttering around here trying to get things back in order after MDSW, but I did manage to get Murmuration and Dolly's Coat of Many Colors pre-order listings in the shop for those who couldn't make it to MDSW or Nash Yarn Fest. 🧶🧶🧶
My next new sample for MDSW is the amazing Fiona sweater by Vicky Chan! I used Mochi DK for it and love how it looks and feels knit up this way. The pattern is very well written and easy to follow. I highly recommend. 🧶🧶🧶 I used Silver Lining as the MC and Marshmallow as the CC.
Hi! It's almost time for MDSW! Today is my last dyeing day to prepare for it and then it's twisting/labeling, packing & getting everything organized for setup on Friday. My first new sample for the show is New Terrain from Yamagata. 🧶🧶🧶 I use two strands of my silk/linen yarn, Smoothie Fingering. 1/
Hi! Whew. I feel like I can finally catch my breath. I've been so so busy over here and needed to stay super focused to make sure I got everything done. I'm heading to Nash Yarn Fest this week. The market is Fri & Sat. Info here: www.nashyarnfest.com Dolly's Coat of Many Colors is coming, too. 1/
I'm home from the fun Tidewater Knitting Guild retreat market and ready to hit the ground running to prepare for Nash Yarn Fest, which is less than a month away! Hope to see you there! 🧶🧶🧶
I forgot to bring my knitting with me on this trip to the Outer Banks, but it’s gorgeous today and my booth is all set up in time for me to get my toes into sand and soak up the ocean. I’ll be at the Tidewater Knitting Guild market today from 12-5. Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk. 🧶🧶🧶
Seeing Buddy Guy show up at the Oscars in leather overalls and his trademark polka dots made me really happy. We were able to see him and Kingfish perform last summer and it was a night of pure joy.
Obsessed with the texture in this WIP. I’m holding two strands of Smoothie Fingering (a gorgeous silk and linen blend yarn) together for this amazing marled top. The pattern is New Terrain Tee by Yamagara. 🧶🧶🧶
Be My Baby is a sweet colorway perfect for Valentine’s Day. This is a luscious merino and silk blend combed top. In the shop :) www.kimdyesyarn.com/spinning-fib...
The next Stardew Valley sock kit is in the shop! Yarn kits for Winter—The Wind Can Be Still are available. www.kimdyesyarn.com/patterns/p/s...
Maybe you feel like stitching something up that reminds you of pretty succulents. I have pre-orders open on the site for Succulent, which is a pretty and elegant colorway inspired by gorgeous plants. www.kimdyesyarn.com/weeklyshopup...
Hallelujah is a favorite colorway inspired by the Jeff Buckley recording of this song. Hallelujah is a lovely neutral speckled colorway. You may now pre-order it on a variety of bases! www.kimdyesyarn.com/weeklyshopup... 🧶🧶🧶
I’m grateful to be out of project limbo. I had been working on a pattern which very much did not pay off on time and yarn, so I decided to ditch it. New WIP is on the needles and so far so good. 🧶🧶🧶 TV Talk: Who’s watching Industry? This season is blowing my mind, it’s so good.
