I don't normally plan on cross-posting between here and patreon, but this just felt important to share as an update.

I wanted to get one of these out a bit earlier, but here we are! So far I've managed to put a new story out (Unbearable Tension) and I have the first draft of another story pretty much finished, which I'm hoping to have polished up and released this weekend.

There's been a very unexpected change in my circumstances that has me questioning the direction I want to take my writing in. It's nothing serious, but it's also been a wake-up call for me regarding my plans to eventually transition from free-to-read works on AO3 to self publishing on ebook storefronts like smashwords and kindle. This is a change I've been planning to make for a while. I've put it off for a long time, mainly due to logistical reasons and me just being afraid of taking that leap, but it's something I can't really afford to put off for much longer.

I may also have to take up more work outside of writing, which would inevitably impact my overall output. Commissions simply don't come anywhere near often enough to be a consistent source of income.

I don't plan to stop posting works for free/for patrons entirely. I have a flash-fic nearly finished that I'm definitely going to put up for my patrons before the end of the month, and I want to continue occasionally posting shorts to AO3/Lit.

Before the end of last year, I said that I was feeling more optimistic coming into 2026 than I did coming into 2025. Despite everything, that's still true. I just have a lot to figure out, and some big decisions to make regarding my future as a writer. I greatly appreciate the patience of my readers during these times.
