Fun flea market trick: if you come across a high school yearbook, check out the Wikipedia section for "notable alumni"
I have just been made aware of a place called "Little Yummy" in Asakusabashi that serves "Forbidden Bacon Cheese Curry" tabelog.com/en/tokyo/A13...
I'm going to VCF West! I mean, I usually go, but this time I will bring a whole bunch of computer games, hardware, ephemera, and other such things to sell. August 1-2 at the Computer History Museum - it's a really fun show if you are a huge nerd vcfed.org/vcf-west-lay...
I'm not on Threads but a friend sent me this -- looks like Coco Ichibanya is (finally, after several false starts) coming to the Bay Area, starting in Cupertino!
Was in a travel bookstore and looked up curry rice in the Lonely Planet "Eat Japan" guidebook and the entry bounces between "dismissive" and "passive-aggressive hate"
(sung to the tune of the Ninja Turtles theme song) (old timey song advertisements edition)
Eating breakfast at BAFTA! They have photos from our year up on the wall!
Crazy Thumbs did not allow photos, but here is the retro section of that CEX, which was pretty great considering it's a CEX
London game pickups! Got the Master System version of Prince of Persia and Elite Beat Agents from a small retro store called Crazy Thumbs, but the nearby CEX had the deals with Xenon 2 (£8) and FFVI (£26). I have FFVI but it has a big crack in the front of the case, so: upgrade time!
Saw the Totoro stage play and it was freaking amazing. Worth going to London for. You can also eat Cocoichi for lunch and then walk there. I didn't (because we had it last night).
king: didst thou maketh the requested statue of the godly golden lion sculptor: sure did boss, with a real fuckin stupid face just like you asked king: hwæt
Surprised that none of the coverage of Xbox's purported "disc to digital" initiative points out that this was how the Xbox One was originally supposed to work. www.wired.com/2013/05/xbox...
[me elbowing my wife every five minutes during house of the dragon] you know i got nominated for the same bafta as that guy
my lucasarts collection looks like this and it doesn't have that version!
FWIW, if you told me I could buy one of the games at this estate sale, it would absolutely be the CD-ROM edition of Monkey Island. All the other games I see, some are "rare" but you can still just go online and buy them whenever you want. This just doesn't come up for sale.
I would love to just watch a live camera feed of the first two minutes of this estate sale www.estatesales.net/NC/Winston-S...
Gitaroo Man is out tomorrow! A hidden gem of the character-story-music genre, the game that put iNiS on the map prior to Ouendan, Lips, etc. I was inspired to dig through my old files to find my first trip to the iNiS office all the way back in 2002. Look at all these young people!
Happy 10th anniversary to me playing Breath of the Wild for the first time, apparently
