I mean, they meet in ARR, but they start dating until EW haha, but here is what I write in a lore doc some weeks ago about their first encounter (and a photo of him because yes)
Like with the father figure Kote eqs raised by his adoptive mom, Lucilia, she is garlean and she teach him most of the things he know (for good or bad). She is super sweet but she could kill someone who threats her family very quick. Kibik is family but is recently that Kote actually know her.
In body, only the color marks (from black to red), but the change in canon would be in ShB. The main difference is the main glam for MSQ. Left is the EW glam (also used in post ShB), right is the DT glam.

Muluk Razajirr and I'sov Nofri, biological and adoptive dads respectively, they only meet in DT after Kote reunites with his family in Tural, besides that they haven't interacted that much besides I'sov sharing stories about how they rise Kote after he was separated from his biological family.

Since he asked me to answer. Yes, he has been petted, and that is fine as long as is not the scary white woman (Rocco will run away and she will chase him until she pet him).
Is almost the same, just different body marks and they used to be black, and he used that pair of googles from ARR until the end, but I kinda keep the marks color change as lore for him, and also why he stoped to use the googles (they broke in EW end, he keep them saved)
And photos of Lucilia and Rakote that I had just to complement (Rakote is little for a hroth, but still a big guy).
