As in moving people quickly. It’s a parking lot. This is it right now. A surfaces street would be faster. Really, removing the highway wouldn’t change much, other than dispensing with the illusion that a fast driving route is available at rush hour.

I love my Tern folding e-bike I got in 2020. The wide tires help with potholes, badly aligned sewer grates, and so forth. The stem and seat telescope, so all can ride it. Note the messenger bag on the back. I got that from Tern. It clips to the built-in rack and has a strap for carrying it.

Behold the sidewalk to the East Lake MARTA station, which is located in Dekalb County on the edge of the City of Atlanta. Evidently, neither MARTA nor Dekalb County care whether people actually can walk to the station from the nearest residential neighborhood. And they wonder why ridership is low…
Beltline Rail Now supporters are now openly saying what many of us knew all along— they want to cut down the trees on the Beltline so that they can get their billion-dollar streetcar. Cutting down trees won’t solve the problem of how to pay for it, unless timber prices go WAY up.

😏 These puddles aren’t rain, but the tears of Beltline Rail Now. This is (was?) a group that tried to divert funds from Southside Atlanta & more to pay billion$ for a toy trolley in their gentrified neighborhood. BTW- Better Atlanta Transit supports infill MARTA stations. Those involve rail, Darin.
