Remembering the 49 people we tragically lost to gun violence at Pulse, ten years on. Please join me in saying their names and remembering them well.
Under the headline "Chris Hipkins rejects social media claims made by ex-wife," Stuff won't hint at what Hipkins' ex Jade Paul wrote on FB (before she took the post down) but has the following responses: Hipkins: "I reject the allegations entirely" Ex: "I stand by everything I've said in the post"
I don't know how I went a whole decade being completely unaware of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared before it landed on Dropoout this week, but it is so much in my dadaist freak art lane that I wish I could go back in time to experience each episode as it originally hit the internet.
Morning Glory Nails on Instagram: www.instagram.com/morning.glor... I don't know this person at all, but she does cool art and made a big leap of faith moving her life down to Wellington.
from Gay Comics (1980) #17, 1993, "New Contingency Groups for the Gay Pride Parade" by Jennifer Camper
Not a graphic novel but I was obsessed with how Marvel Knights: The World To Come handled this
Trying to give classic horror host crossed with Robert Smith for today's Near Mint Condition stream.
Garbage is coming to New Zealand in December. I'm not sure how I could swing a mid-week trip to Auckland, but... this might be my only chance to take Kid Krisis to see my all-time favorite band (and also my last chance to seen them again).
This is real. We have a US executive order (pre-)criminalizing dissent with whatever are defined as "traditional American views." Even if some or all of this is struck down by courts, it is the essential machinery to investigate & persecute anyone for virtually any liberal or progressive opinion.
I've had MANY people recommend GIDEON THE NINTH in the past few years. It's scifi/fantasy by a NZ author with the theme "Lesbian Necromancers." Couldn't be any more up my alley, right? I don't know if I've ever despised the style of prose in a book more. I want to take a red pen to every sentence.
I have found my personal peanut butter jesus. (it has coconut sugar added, so I cut it with some straight-up NZ peanut powder that tastes like crushed up aspirin so I don't peanut butter rapture myself)
this obit-of-sorts saying it loudly for the people trying to both-sides the behavior of a bigot, confirmed many times over
now there's an obit I can get behind www.thenation.com/article/poli...
Sometimes the best solution is a tool that simplifies your routine in exactly the way you needed it simplified. In UX Design we might call that a "desire path" - the direct route the user yearns to travel. There are probably 100 triathlon training apps, but the first step of my path was a basket.
Is anyone else looking this good while covering every new comic released every single week of the year? If they are, I wanna see it!
me repping my @pepperraccoon.com glassware (and an Easter Egg of their QUEER AF pin in the background on my shelf!) during today's stream
There is a new Drag KINGS reality competition show called KING OF DRAG, and it is absolutely wonderful and free to watch in the US when you make a revry.com login revry.com/details/seri...
getting non-gendered euphoria by they/them-ing super hard on streams recently
I do so much streaming these days that sometimes little clips of me pop up where I have NO RECOLLECTION of them happening but I'm like "yep, I'd definitely do that"
What I assume I look like after I get ready for a stream but before I see myself on camera:
looked cute today in my little low-res Hollywood Square of the NMC stream
Every time I see a map like this I am reminded that growing up in a place where at least 1/3 of white people in any room are Italian is NOT the norm. (Which helps contextualize jokes about disliking Italian people, which - as you can imagine - play very differently in Philly/NYC than anywhere else)
Disney is releasing Andor Season 2 in weekly movies, with a 3-ep arc out each week for four weeks. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it seems motivated by fear to me. They took a beating on Acolyte AND Andor is VERY political. Why else would you give up 8 add'l weeks of earned media?
