I love this church because it a) is a great example of what I think of as "Creepy 70s Catholic" architecture and b) the Stade Olympique in the background makes it look like a kaiju being devoured by another kaiju
Because I am old, not only do I need reading glasses, I bought these Clarks sandals because they're incredibly comfortable and I'm hoping I can get away with wearing them to work
Missed Wednesday because the drawing turned out horrible and yesterday because I forgot, so here is today's drawing: the fish desk calendar
Today's drawing: forgot about this until just now so it's a plant. There is a dumbell in there though
Went to Allan Gardens for some sketching and discovered that I'm much better at drawing plants than turtles
Went to the aquarium today. This is the jellyfish wall that they tried to pretend was in the Biodome in Heated Rivalry
I found this book at work and it's a banger so far, the true story of gang of upper-class twits who try to pull off a jewel robbery and immediately get caught
Today's cocktail: L'aube boréale (Woodland dawn), taken from the email newsletter of SEPAQ, Quebec's provincial park authority. I had to make a cocktail syrup with apples and honey and for all that, it pretty much tastes like sparkling wine and lemon juice
I had one that was shaped like a bee. It didn't seal properly so there would always be random tea leaves in your beverage, but at least the Tea Bee had this sort of ecstatic expression on its face, like it's had so much caffeine it can see the face of God
Finally finished this thing - 4000 stitches, 60 colours. Working on it on and off since March. Ready for small, practical projects for the near future #crossstitch #embroidery
Attempts to make Christmas ornament cake pops have not entirely gone to plan...I am calling these "cake lumps" and forsee them being a tradition going forward
watched Knives Out (the first one) again last night and have decided that I want to live in Harlan Thrombey's study
Current status: enjoying my yearly viewing of The Thin Man in spite of having been told on good authority that this movie is "boring" and "makes no sense". I still love it and you can't stop me
I hate hate hate DMC metallic thread, why did I choose to make my cross stitch christmas cards out of it this year
Anyway here's a terrible sketch I did of a planter at Allan Gardens today
