/5 BONUS - Rosé- not originated in Ukraine, but very decent wines by Ukrainian wineries, both made of American grape Jupiter. ✅Father’s wine - Pink Square (Рожевий квадрат) - semi-dry ✅Zelenytsi winery- Jupiter (Юпітер) - dry
/4 White dry - Telti-Kuruk, fresh white wine with herbal, citrus, grass notes. Native grape variety of Odesa region, also grown in Mykolayiv. Mostly produced by Shabo winery but recently also handled by Beykush winery. Haven’t tasted it yet, but it’s in my list
/3 White dry - Citronnyi Magaracha by Frumushika Nova from Odesa region. Extremely good and decent wine with some flavors of citrus, tropical fruits and muscat wine notes.
/2 🥂White - Sukholymansky, developed in Odesa in 1969. Well-balanced wine with aroma of pear, flowers, citrus and honey. Not very acidic. One of my favorite white wines and very budget friendly. I like white dry by Kolonist again
1/ 🍷 Red wine - Odesa Black (Odesky Chornyi) is a cross of French grape varieties- Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon. Developed in Odesa in 1972 and cultivated in Odesa and Mykolayiv regions. There are many Ukr wineries producing this wine but I personally prefer the red dry by Kolonist
It’s Friday, so I decided to share some of the best wines produced in Ukraine. Our country isn’t exactly famous for its wines (more for our survival skills 😅),but over the past few decades we’ve been producing some pretty good indigenous wines (made of local grape varieties originated in Ukraine)🧵
When we asked to just help us defend ourselves on our territory (not talking abt bombing russia) we heard a lot of things: “China watching”, “WW3”, “Nuclear war”, “Escalation”, “Too expensive” etc. All of these magically vanishes when you are “white enough”. I’m speechless. #ukrainianview
