It's tricky for artists to branch out 😅 There's a clear bias in what my audience wants. That's fine (I'm incredibly grateful for your comments & support) but it can be hard to tell whether a piece does poorly because it's *bad* or because it just doesn't interest my followers.

up alongside. "Are you all right?"

"No..." Henry moaned. "I'm stuck."

Emily sighed reproachfully. "I figured this
would happen. You were leaking water
everywhere." She crossed onto the other line
and backed down towards Henry.

"What do you think you're doing?" Henry
protested weakly.

"Getting you out of here, mister crosspatch,
and to the Works to have you looked at again."

"Oh! Well - thank you, I guess," said
Henry, abashed.

"Don't mention it," smiled Emily.

Henry's guard uncoupled him from the trucks,
whilst his fireman coupled him up to Emily. Then
the two green engines set off, Emily puffing
purposefully in front, Henry rolling gently behind.

Both engines looked in horror to see Thomas hurtling
towards them with a train of fully loaded coal trucks.

"Oooh! Emily, help!" Cried Oliver.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Emily replied, puffing towards
Oliver as quickly as she could. Her buffers met his with
a loud clang. "GET ON YOU!" Emily barked.

"Move out of the way!" Shrieked Thomas as he
hurtled toward the crossing. The silly trucks surged
against him, chanting "On! On! On!"

Oliver's driver had taken the brakes off before
jumping clear. It was up to Emily now. She pushed
against the weight of Oliver and his trucks as
hard as she could.
Thomas shut his eyes. He reached the crossing
and - Emily was gone, having pushed Oliver clear
just in time.

"Phew," sighed Oliver, "that was close."

"Yes, thank you Miss Emily, you saved us!" Said
Toad admiringly.

"My - pleasure," said Emily breathlessly.

toward the bottom of the hill.

Edward had followed them from his station.
With a friendly whistle, he came puffing up behind.

"Well, hello there!" he called. "Need a push?"

"Yes please," said Emily gratefully.

"Of course," smiled Edward, gently buffering up to her
last coach. "You pull, on my whistle."
