A wee space for miniatures. Hopelessly jumping projects… currently battle of Dorking 28mm, Eldar and Inquisitorial 3rd edition armies (with the kids!), First Age Middle Earth (also with the kids) and 6mm Sengoku Jidai
The next off the rank, Von Rechtan 1st Battalion. Behind them more Germans, this time the KGL, primed with brush on Vallejo grey and then washed in Soft Skin Shade to pick out the details before painting.
An early birthday present from my brother. 1st regiment artillery, first empire, from a reputable dealer so hopefully genuine (if not it’s a lovely thought)… can I sow it to my own hat?
Here is the British force so far. Two more brigades of infantry, another regiment of heavy dragoons and one of hussars and another battery of artillery to go, along with divisional command. Quite a bit!
I’m at the why have I done this to myself stage of these. Belts etc to do for ten more and then the metals and details… I think I might do a brigade of Saxons next.
Photo taken by my very concerned daughter moments after tragedy struck 🫣😂
Wash applied, clean up and static grass to go… next up the Gordon Highlanders
Still drying! Awaiting basing and wash are the von Brusselle Wurttemberg light infantry.
Punched from white dwarf 225… the eight year old heretic has vaporised my imperial fleet. She loved doing it so much I’m already browsing 3D printed ships.
This has taken the best part of a morning. Two batteries of Wurttemberg foot artillery. Looking at the schedule for work, still about a month off done 🫣
It’ll be GdB or GdA that they are used for, I’ve actually cheated slightly on 6… still flexible enough to represent formations in those games.
Work in progress on the Wurttembergers - pretty pleased so far, but lots of details to go.
4th (Queens Own) almost finished, the rest will get static grass tomorrow morning. Next up Wurttembergers!
The Wurttembergers have arrived - no new minis until this lot are painted!
The force is starting to take shape, five bases of Dragoons on the bench alongside some skirmishing riflemen. Once those are done it’ll be on to the next highland battalion.
This week it’s Dragoon week, a WIP as I burrow deeper into the Napoleonic rabbit hole.
13th regiment light dragoons… nothing like finishing a unit and discovering the piping on the collars and cuffs should be yellow not white. At this scale and with my painting skills I don’t think it’s noticeable 😂
Here is the finished battery, based and drying. Gloss varnish and then done.
More work on British Napoleonics… only when I took the photo that I realised I’d missed the drummers knees! Bases arrived from Warbases and so I’ve started the basing assembly line.
