1/2 #PointeIC 🔥🚒 #LACoFD firefighters are on scene of a second-alarm brush fire in the area of 21300 Centre Pointe Pkwy. in #SantaClarita. The fire is currently at approximately 30 acres with structures threatened. An evacuation warning has been issued for Zone SCL-CARLBOYER.

The #LACoFD is saddened to hear that our dear friend, Randy Mantooth passed away yesterday. Known as FFPM Johnny Gage in the iconic 1970s TV series #Emergency, his character was an integral part of #Squad51, popularizing the PM & EMS system across the U.S. Randy was a great friend & will be missed.

1/2 Welcome Home #LACoFD USA-2! Family gathered yesterday to welcome home USA-2 from their @statedept mission in #Venezuela. Together, they affected many life-saving rescues, performed wide-area assessments, evaluated countless buildings for safety, and brought hope to the Venezuelan people.
From the rubble of La Guaira to recognition — the dogs of #LACoFD USA-2 were honored for their tireless work following Venezuela’s devastating earthquakes. These dogs worked alongside their handlers through collapsed structures & dangerous debris, searching for survivors when hope was running thin.
Happy 4th of July 🇺🇸 Today, we honor the courage & dedication of our USA-2 members as they continue to execute their @StateDept mission in #Venezuela. We also want to extend a huge shoutout to the logistical & family support teams back at home—you are also a vital backbone of this operation.
Operations continue in #Venezuela, as USA-02 members, including canine search teams, continue to work on structures in some of the hardest-hit areas. Using specialized and heavy equipment, members are able to delayer the fallen structures and access spaces where survivors may still be trapped.
Today, Supervisor Hilda L. Solis joined with local fire & law enforcement officials, along with the UCLA Health Regional Burn Center & Public Health to discuss the importance of fireworks and community safety for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.
National Wildland FF Day 🔥 We recognize the dedication & resilience of all #LACoFD FSAs & wildland FFs that work to protect lives, property & natural resources. We also keep in our prayers the 3 wildland FFs—Emily Barker, Nick Hutcherson & Sydney Watson—killed on 6/27 battling the Snyder Fire.
2/2 This rescue continues to offer a powerful reminder of what's possible through hope, perseverance, and teamwork. The U.S. Department of State mission continues with efforts continue across the affected Venezuelan communities.

While a search & rescue K9’s primary job is saving lives, their role doesn’t end when the search stops. Amidst the devastation, these remarkable dogs offer an unspoken language of comfort. A quiet moment of connection—a wagging tail or a gentle nudge—can provide a beacon of hope when needed most. 🐕
USA-2 Medical Team In Action! Our Medical Team continues to connect with local medical personnel and hospital recon. Medical Team Managers - Doctor Bosson, Doctor Kashani, and Doctor Whitfield - along with our amazing Medical Specialists are hard at work in Venezuela.
March of Dimes BBQ 💜👣 After a seven-year hiatus, the #LACoFD hosted the return of the cherished #MarchOfDimes BBQ today. Exec. Team members served a delicious lunch courtesy of the Camps kitchen team. Attendees also enjoyed a car show, photo booth & opportunity drawing for a great cause!

Today, we remember the Granite Mountain Hotshots crew who died battling the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona on 6/30/13. This year commemorates the 13th anniversary of the tragic loss of these devoted & diligent Hotshots, including former #LACoFD Explorer, Kevin Woyjeck. #weshallneverforget
