Another one came out of hibernation today. (And I’m not talking about myself.) This one is pretty small.
My earliest butterfly to emerge from its months-long hibernation. (Maybe too early, this species isn’t active usually until June.) It’s survived wind, rain, snow, and below-zero temperatures for days at a time.
Goings on: a pretty day at the lake, I found a fossil! Ate a hot dog and watched the Cubs win, Aaron made me giggle (as usual- that’s evergreen 🥰)
The world is a pit of fire but I’ll be over here making meat stick ads and silly nail art and looking at heated rivalry videos and playing with other peoples cats

The bagel shop owner said my nails remind him of Arizona. Which is incredibly accurate since I just got back from there. Then he took my info down for his niece. A new 💅 client and a bagel sandwich, the week’s off to a good start.
My little ambitious chives are already coming back… only to be frozen tomorrow night… but they seem pretty resilient!
Took me two hours from landing to my front door. Whew!!! The ohare baggage claim is under construction and I had to walk to a different terminal to get my bag. Plus about 40 minutes of waiting for the plane to find a parking spot.
Even though I’m currently in a place where they don’t follow daylight saving time, I can still sense it’s the most wonderful time of the year 🏙️
My little neighborhood rat wrangler buddy, Bob, is healed from his snip-snip. I was greeted with meows and dirt biscuits 😭

Absolute hate plumbing issues … why do they always pop up on the weekends?? One of these things is making noise…. I’m not getting one step closer to look at it 🤢 What’s a fear of plumbing called?? I have it. Pipeophobia?? 🤣💀🫠
