When the enshittification means that Amazon is incapable of mailing out books. I've been ordering about everything from the indie bookstore in town but they couldn't get this one. Ugh.

My card was declined today and when I called in I was told my purchase Swamp Dogg's 'Total Destruction of Your Mind's had been flagged. The bank rep cleared it and I recommended she check it out and got "I'm 63, honey, I heard it when it came out in 1970." Very cool.
Interesting and not surprising. I feel like I've greatly benefited from the Internet in talking to other artists. I know that Moebius had met with Otomo but that was a pretty extreme trip. Moebius also did this for Nausicaa (which was very French comic inspired).
I want to post more art. These are panels from the in-progress Factory Muse. These panels are four years old, sometimes art just takes so, so much time. I like them though.

Well worth locating Miyazaki's original image boards for Princess Mononoke. It's very neat since it shows a very different initial draft of the movie with the same title and it predates Ghibli and Nausicaa. It also is a nice and complete story on its own.
I know the challenge is to go back in time for introspection, but I love the pivot of the solipsistic narrator of Built to Spill's song 'Distopian Dream Girl'
Breezy and tightly written. Easy to love the cast. It might be his best comic work and a major pity he stopped drawing black and white work.
I have been obsessed with the song This is What She's Like by Dexy's Midnight Runners for awhile. Essentially the follow up to Come On Eileen but overly long, unfocused, saying nothing. The music's a lot of fun when Kevin Rowland isn't babbling.
