Swimming at Ludlow yesterday morning was beautiful... One pic looking upstream, taken by me in the water; the other looking downstream towards the castle (taken by a paddle-boarding friend and showing me and pal swimming - look for the colourful tow-floats :) )
Here's two pics to show the difference blocking makes- really, don't worry too much about getting things perfect whilst making! Pattern is free, 'Edlothia' and it's very very forgiving of mistakes and bodging ;) Just let yourself enjoy the new skill and don't fret :) Also, black crochet rocks ;)
My trusty old cotton Vango Force Ten is coping brilliantly with 30° in Purbeck but I would hate it any hotter...

Yep, I take a route early morning, couple of times a week, similar bye-law in place, strictly enforced- stop and take photo of bike, or else!
I enjoyed walking to the supermarket this morning before the heat builds... now we'll stay indoors with light curtains closed in the south windows to let air in but keep solar gain out...

The intense blue of native English bluebells through a hawthorn hedge. If you have bolt-upright Spanish bluebells in your garden, please pick them and bring then in as cut flowers, so they don't cross-pollinate the native bluebells. We mustn't lose these exquisite, deep blue, scented bluebells <3

First time I've made coconut-ice in years and years! (The real sort, not the condensed milk sort) Most is in the freezer, foil-wrapped half-dozen squares; one foil-wrapped half-dozen in the biscuit-tin drawer for eating over the next couple of weeks; the crumbs and bits are in a couple of jars :)

Exceptionally good gig last night at the Capstone in Liverpool- @warringtonruncorn.com , that venue really suits your performance! Well worth our travelling further for it... More diverse crowd too- lots of young, & not accompanying older folk either! Tons of women too! Usually.../1

Hurrah, eight dozen little sausage rolls :) These little blighters fuel my life- two pinged hot in the microwave for breakfast every day, & one with meds later; I take 6-10 when I swim at the quarry twice a week for us all to have when we get out (hot in winter); as well as picnics and snacks :)
Car-crochet: free 'Edlothia' shawl pattern- excellent pattern, have made many of different gauges- from DK down to this 1-ply merino... a forgiving and adaptable pattern!
It took a couple of attempts to get the tension right, but I can now wear my #MelttheICE cap over here in the UK, to show international support for those opposing the oppression in the USA. Knitted in super-bulky on 6.5mm and 8mm DPNs. #knitsky #redhats #ShowMeYourKnits
