Lifting far beneath the blue, the crowns of stone, come into view. Three silent sisters stand apart; a sight that stills the rushing heart. Sometimes I fell like I'm on top of the world. What a beautiful place to live and enjoy. #poem #pnw #threesisters #cascades
The sun-baked granite shears away, A plunging drop to forest deep, Where windswept wilderness expands And shadows of the raptors sweep. Above the peaks, a line of white Fades soft into a turquoise sky. An open challenge carved in stone Where only the wind and daring fly. What a view!
The purple aster softly gleams, Besides the lupine's blue-lit beams. And pearly everlasting glows, Where sweet wild lotus softly blows. A splash of bold, bright paintbrush red, Ignites this alpine flowerbed, A painted carpet, high and free, In nature's quiet sanctuary. Holland Meadows my favorite
A brush of plum across the sky, Where fading yellow lingers high. The calm lake mirrors every hue, And splits the violet from the blue. A tiny island, oh so small, Watches the golden twilight fall. (Lake Lahontan~ Silver Springs, NV side) Good night to you all.
Beneath the bridge, in lush green grass, The lazy summer hours pass. On mossy rocks, slick, damp, and cool, Leopard frogs overlook the pool. They watch the quiet water gleam, Then leap into the mountain stream. (Modoc National Forest Park in California) It was a nice trip, but glad to be home.
Hidden beneath the emerald vine, Unseen, the clustered globes recline. Drinking the warmth of summer's ray, We dream of that approaching day. Soon will the gentle sunbeams sink, And paint them in a blushing pink, Waking the sweet and tender hue, Waiting for Autumn's kiss of dew.
A canopy of endless blue, Where mountain peaks touch heaven's hue. The sun pours down its golden light, On emerald valleys, soft and bright. A painted world, vast and serene, Where summer reigns the quiet scene. Hope your all enjoying this season. Be kind and keep on shining.
Long purple cones reach for the sky, A sweet, honeyed feast for the butterfly. Soft, painted wings flutter and land, A delicate dance in the summer wind's hand. #butterfly #pnw #poetry #cascades #summertime #bluesky
My friends came for a visit this weekend and this picture came up in my memories of when I went to visit them. Some memories are worth sharing. About 9 miles South of Astoria, OR is this beautiful 54-foot tall Youngs River Falls.
What a nice treat on a hot summer day. Hope you all are staying cool and hydrated. Love and kindness! Keep shining 🌟 #waterfalls #pnw #cascades
My love took me two miles up, into the mountains to pick some wildflowers. Aren't they lovely? I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend 😊 #wildflowers #pnw #cascades
I hope you have an amazing weekend. Be kind and keep shining.☺️
A sweeping wash of starry blue Where damp spring meadows drink the dew The Camas paints the valley floor It's edible bulbs, prized even more A crucial food source for early settlers here When cooked, they taste sweet like a pear. (Common Camas) #pnw #poetry #wildflowers #cascades
Small yellow blooms in dappled light, Tucked where the cool stream flows, Shyly hidden, soft and bright, That's where the wild violets grow. (Stream violets) Good morning bluesky it's been a while. I hope today gives you lots of reasons to smile.
No poetry or words of wisdom this morning. Just me wishing you a calm and relaxing Sunday. Good morning Bluesky friends. Picture is of a mill pond at the old Industrial park in Oakridge, Or.
The forest first green is a yellow gold As buds appear and start to unfold. The air is thick with scented life, A momentary pause from strife. The woods are dressed in bright array, Beckoning us to come and stay. May you have a fabulous Friday. #forestfriday #forest #pnw #cascades #poetry
No sapphire hue or frosty blue, It's porcelain bells and shimmering dew. Growing sturdy, straight and tall, Waiting for the dew to fall. A garden traveler, wild and free, Finds it's home beneath a tree. Hope you have a lovely evening. #poetry #wildflowers #pnw #cascades
A sunny, wild, and cheerful weed that brings a bloom to those in need. Crush the bloom and it bleeds red to heal a bruise or sooth the head. Gathered at midnight on the saint's holy day St. John's Wort is thought to charm all witches away. Happy Thursday! #pnw #cascades #wildflowers #poetry
These pretty little falls use to be the turning force for a grist mill, in Jasper, Oregon. They may be small, but they are powerful. Hills Creek falls emptying into the Willamette River. #waterfallwednesday #waterfalls #pnw #cascades
Creeping where the shadows play Pretty Periwinkle, brightens the way. Among the grass and morning dew Their petals, a royal purple blue. A shining star,a trailing vine Making an ordinary garden shine. Had to take a break and refocus on the pure and lovely. #wildflowers #poetry #pnw #cascades
I don't normally do this but I feel it's appropriate today. Sending best wishes to each and every one of you here on Bluesky. I hope you have a lovely afternoon.
In the damp woods, I saw such a sight, Tiny rosettes, of purple, pink and white. Nuttall's Toothwort starts to rise, Lifting blossoms to the skies. Four petals, open like tiny wings, Tells us the ground is awake; it is Spring. #wildflowers #pnw #cascades #poetry #westcoast
Crimson petals, soft and bright, Dance in the early morning light. Sharp thorns hide beneath the sheen, Sturdy, untamed, and serene. Weathered timber, silver-grey, Holds the boundary of the day. A fiery bloom on rustic wood, Holding steady, growing good. #roses #poems #sundaymorning
A silent crown of silver white, Against the blue, a stunning sight. With icy peaks that pierce the sky, Where eagles soar and clouds drift by. (Diamond Peak) May your Easter weekend be blessed with peace, hope, and joy, bringing a renewal of spirit and happiness to you and your loved ones.
A velvet green upon the gray, Where ancient giants passed away. Softly cloaked in shaded light, The stump becomes a forest site. New life creeping, damp and deep, While the old roots slowly sleep. Good morning, looks like good weather for the forest. Rainy days! #moss #PNW #woodland #miniaturelife
