Sophie’s “lion cut” has helped her be more comfortable in this endless heat wave we are having. The vet reports her KD bloodwork values only went up a little. So good news. #caturday
My big floofy kitty Sophie got her summer shave yesterday (a bit late). She will be much more comfortable in the heat, and now that all the mats are gone.

Osprey Chick TWO fledged late Monday. Now all three chicks have fledged at the Boulder Fairgrounds nest. There were four eggs; one was a dud. The three chicks and mom and dad are all healthy. Webcam screengrab #birds
It took months and having to get approval from the HOA but I finally got a screen door at the new house so Sophie can look at the birds

So excited that a fritillary butterfly found my blazing stars. I also saw two large yellow swallowtails dancing around my newly planted (this spring!) perennial garden. Erie Colorado where it is always hot, always windy, and always sunny.

Sophie's floofy tail. She is a super floofy kitty. Even though it is HOT in the house, she likes to sleep on this "fake" fleece from Lands End. It has a secret advantage: it washes well when she barfs up hairballs on it. I love you Sophie!
Ventura was a nightmare as a governor. I lived thru it. But don't know if ARNOLD was or not. However, never forget Zelensky was a comic actor before he became UKR President and that turned out pretty well.

it's just hot in the house. even with the AC on. sophie is telling me "turn the AC lower, please." i may give in. in a couple of weeks she'll get her annual "lion cut" shave. I guess i left it too late this summer. who knew we were gonna basically be living in the Mojave?!
