Politely opinionated film geek, comedy nerd, old time radio egghead, drama dweeb and book dork Letterboxd:
Another great Eddie Muller intro at the @paristheaternyc.bsky.social for Sweet Smell of Success during #NoirCity NY!! Eddie called it the best NYC film ever, and it's definitely a fave- perfect combo of old New York glamour and grit, unlikable and unredeemable characters, and crackling dialogue.
Feel so fortunate to have seen the amazing Czar of Noir, Eddie Muller, kick off Noir City: New York at the @paristheaternyc.bsky.social!! What a treat to hear him speak live (and unfettered), and to see him in his element, surrounded by his brethren.
Thank you!! I think he likes it, but I could be reading into it lol
#NoirvemberChallenge Day 1: Favorite film noir opening scene Gotta go with the one that jump-started my love of #FilmNoir, a sweaty Walter Neff stumbling into his office to record a confession in the middle of the night in Double Indemnity.
She was just always there as part of my life. The cool, funny, neurotic, brilliant, beautiful woman of everyone's dreams. One of the few whose opinion Woody respected enough to take feedback from, which speaks volumes. I knew we'd be losing a whole generation, but wasn't expecting her. Devastated. 💔
Post a book you love from the 1970s! Adding an "s" to "book" because these pair so well... (and I'm indecisive lol) Metropolitan Life by Fran Lebowitz & Crazy Salad: Some Things About Women by Nora Ephron
