Tired middle-aged woman, likes cats. Has strong opinions, may or may not share them. Transitioned in the long-ago years of the early 00s, not that it's any of your business.
Apparently CKWX 1130 got shut down and pulled off the air with zero warning due to a "budget cut" bloodbath that axed a bunch of stations today. Un-freaking-believable. They were a 50,000 watt clear-channel station that had been on the air with that callsign since 1927! They're a Vancouver fixture.
Me in junior high school if I'd been on a podcast. (If they'd existed back then.) "You all think that way too, right? Right?!" "No we don't." (Comic by @bibleaccuratemoth.bsky.social )
Hmm, looks like I'm not the only one who noticed this. Screenshots of posts by celestetrianon on IG, who I believe is @celeste.lgbt here on Bluesky.
I was super lucky to purchase my copy for a significant discount about ten years ago when the local video store went out of business.
Secret Little Haven Mode. Less Bimbo, more Late 90s Magical Girl Egg TBH. But in Mac System 7 through MacOS 9.2 you could make your entire system do any colour scheme and design you wanted.
Think safety! Trans can arrive from any direction at any time at high speed, you may not hear them, and they can take over a mile to stop. If one trans has gone by, there may be another trans behind it. Never climb on, over or under a stopped trans, they may start moving at any time with no warning.
This was screenshotted on my phone for some reason, and all I could think about was the most recent Real Life Comics multiverse-hopping storyline. Imagining @maegodhavemercy.com subverting this with a Super Mario 3 World 4 version parallel universe - everyone eight feet tall and five feet wide.
Me in the grocery line, thinking to myself: "I'm 80% sure my cashier is an early-in-transition trans girl." Me checking my receipt when I get home: "OK, make that 99.9%." Neat. Third one in this community now. @amazonchique.bsky.social , @zoewithasword.bsky.social - I'm looking in your direction.
1997 and 1998 were not good years for me. I've mostly blocked them out besides getting on the internet for the first time and finally understanding exactly what I was. But this, I guess.
We dressed in neon + floofy hair & had airy synth pads & gated snares cause everything around us was relentlessly brown & moss-coloured and smelled like second-hand cigarette smoke & carbureted car exhaust. (Not my picture, found on Reddit, but an accurate view of our family living room circa '85.)
LOL. This is just the anime adaptation of The Troggs Tapes. Truth in television. Hell, segments of This Is Spinal Tap were built on that. "Ah one, a two, ah one two three four YOU'RE DOING IT FUCKING WRONG. Dubba dubba dubba cha. Dubba dubba dubba cha. Bloody hell, I can't play to that. Eh?"
Seen on IG, by Zedcat (shelley_zedcat on the other site we won't name, and who doesn't appear to be on BlueSky). This is what happens when cis folks think "trans culture" begins and ends with Drag Race and/or super glammed up Influencers. The second panel is pretty much my reaction to this.
Sounds like somebody doesn't remember what Jolt Cola tasted like. Hint: we didn't buy it for the taste, we bought it for its effectiveness, back when "energy drinks" were still a glint in some young marketing executive's eye.
Immortalizing the role of the vacuum cleaner as lead instrument in a rock band.
