I need to figure out how to take photos of the jewelry I make that are not terrible photos Anyway here's a few recent projects in photos that are kind of terrible
Oh my god apparently my alma mater (undergrad university) was featured in King of the Hill and they included our terrible mascot, Temoc the comet, known by students as "the flying sperm" at least when he was first introduced Yes, this is exactly what he looks like (Photo from my sister)
Pond scum and rice vs pond scum and pond You can see how some obnoxious teenagers might draw a comparison? Mine is more yellow than the original dish was because I use more curry powder, so imagine it even greener
Here it is in all its unappetizing-looking glory, from various times I've cooked it over the past few years. It is really very delicious, I promise Also extremely high in iron due to the meat and spinach, hence why I've cooked it SO often in recent years
We are so back (I'm mad it didn't give me a AA for the full combo but that's what I get for being sloppy, in my defense it's been over half a decade since I played this song last) Someday my AAA on Kick the Can will return
Two days of Pride, two different outfits. I almost recognize myself, but nothing looks quite right about me atm. I liked the outfits (though they look messy here). One bonus of dissociation is that I don't care about this exposed midriff because I'm not real!
Day 2 of Toronto Pride completed and I am exhausted. Most of my makeup washed off but you can see the idea. I'm trying to decide if I'm brave enough to try wearing a rainbow bikini top tomorrow to watch the parade.
A friend identified this etched character as "love" and for me it feels like a reminder that I'm allowed to love myself I joke that I'm dating my fiction/fanfic, but really I'm just learning not to sacrifice myself for other people, and getting to know (and love!) who (and what) I really am
This year's the 10th anniversary of my divorce and I wanted something to celebrate. I fell in love with this from @peculiarityshop.bsky.social (great queer-owned jewelry shop!) I admit it looks a lot like my wedding ring, but for me as I am now. Less femme, more direct. It fits.
For comparison, the seven-layer cake *I* make is a rich buttery eggy yellow cake with layers of chocolate buttercream, enrobed in a chocolate fudge glaze You *have* to use the word "enrobed" to describe it, it's that extra and that luxurious
Oh hell yeah the babka was the right answer, I could smell the chocolate when he put it in front of me
The seven-layer cake is like an Entenmann's donut, with the same dry cake and solid chocolate coating An odd choice. The server had told me to try the babka but I was determined to try the cake for research (mine is better!) He has offered to swap my half-eaten cake slice for chocolate babka
Hello, New York City. Your deli is better than Canadian deli, but half sour pickles are an abomination
In 2009, I sent Jane Yolen an email sharing my love of her work, and she received it and was kind in return. I am grateful that I could thank her and that she knew one more person appreciated her. A true generational gift. We are richer for having had her here, and poorer for losing her.
Sophie was watching the trailer for @geminixgame.bsky.social with a lot of excitement (Her favorite game to watch is my roommate playing Splatoon - do we have a new kitty favorite in the making??) My friends are working on this one and they truly Get It, it is made with both love and skill!
Makeup is fun and if you've never played with it before, I encourage you to try it! Got some liquid eyeshadow for the first time because it was on sale, turns out I LOVE it, might need more colors Blended with new powder eyeshadow, plus my usual mascara, a new lipstain, and translucent powder
There are many things I miss about Texas (mostly the people) but there are things I don't miss Glad to be back in Canada where this sort of thing is less common
Like, is this fem!Locke? I can't answer that question Maybe that's what's going on here Maybe not! (It is lesbian Locke for sure, though, hahaha)
@briellastella.bsky.social I don't know you but I just need you to know how much I appreciate you As a lesbian who kind of found herself through writing about Locke, and who decided to draw lesbians of my OTP of all OTPs except Locke just looks like how I usually draw Locke which says something
What if I use this as the base for a red ranger costume for Halloween? I'm not a super sentai person but it just feels like the perfect opportunity, and as the leader of both my bands, I'm supposed to wear red anyway (shh don't point out everything I own is red anyway)
It does not matter if this sort of thing is flattering. You don't say no when destiny arrives on your doorstep. Halloween costume? Stage clothes for band gigs? No idea! Needs foundation garments under it but it fits so I was obligated to buy it.
I wore a dress tonight, the first dress I've bought in almost half a decade Trying to figure out who I am and how I want to express myself
This photo from ten years ago popped up in my FB memories I sure have changed a lot in the past decade I had such terrible negative thoughts about every aspect of myself, from my worth and personality to my appearance I'm so sad for her, she tried so hard and cared so much and it destroyed her
I am very proud of my yeeterus cake, which I wanted to fill with gooshy red raspberry jam but unfortunately the jam set better than that and didn't pour out If you can throw yourself a party afterwards, do it! Also don't try to go right back to work a week after surgery like I did, please rest
